Believe it or not, Lanvin for H&M’s launch wasn’t the only event taking our fair city by storm last night—throughout midtown, holiday-themed fetes abounded. We kicked things off at Gap’s Fifth Avenue flagship store for the grand opening of their Cool Hunting pop-up shop. Gap’s steadily been growing their digital and multimedia savvy over the past few seasons, recently tapping bloggers like Susie Bubble and Foursquare founders Dennis Crowley and Naveen Selvadurai for their new holiday ads. They even shot a handful of wintry campaign videos, now up on Gap’s YouTube and Facebook pages, that trigger a $1 charity donation each time a fan “likes” them. The decision to launch a mini-boutique curated by Cool Hunting’s online editors, then, seemed like a natural next step.

Does the fashion world Love Justin Bieber? A source inside Conde Nast has confirmed to us that the Biebs is being shot for the British fashion mag and Tabitha Simmons is styling. We’re not sure in what capacity he is being shot–we’d be surprised if it’s the cover, but it’s a possibility. Tabitha Simmons is really big, and Justin Bieber is obviously a huge star, though his fan base is presumably younger than most Love readers.

Plus, he’s no stranger to fashion glossies. He was in Elle‘s September issue with Kim Kardashian, and has had spreads in Interview and V Man.

Hamish Has a Chanel Dress and Purple Hands: Hamish Bowles, Vogue‘s European Editor at Large and, most recently, curator of the Balenciaga: Spanish Master exhibition, has his own collection of couture as well. His favorites include some of Galliano’s first collection and a 1926 beaded Chanel dress. Now if someone could just tell us why his hands are purple… {NOWNESS}

How to Make It as a Blogger: Want to be the next big style blogger? We think some level of innate style sense is necessary, but if you’re looking for the recipe for style blogging success, now there’s a hilarious flow chart. There are important details, like bangs and nail art and you must choose a “signature pose.” Might we suggest the “stylish squatter?” {Refinery29}

Polaroids Are Still Cool: Band of Outsiders designer Scott Sternberg talks about why he shoots his lookbook with a Polaroid and uses his friends instead of models. It’s not just because of his Godard obsession or that it saves money. It’s because that’s what he sees inside his head. Also, check out some outtakes from shoots with Marisa Tomei, Jason Schwartzman, Michelle Williams and Kirsten Dunst. {The Moment}

Zac Posen Hearts Martha Stewart: Apparently, Zac Posen has a spare six weeks to spend interning for Martha Stewart. He bid on and won the internship last week at the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai gala. Perhaps he’s planning on releasing a line of housewares? We’re confused. {Racked NY}

“Maybe I would never have been this interested in fashion if I hadn’t played that role for so long and sometimes felt so constrained by being identified with her so much…I mean, I just wasn’t allowed to do anything: wasn’t allowed to cut my hair, put on nail varnish, tan, wear a bra that made my boobs in any way look [larger], have any flesh showing, wear any makeup when I was playing Hermione. I always had to back-comb my hair — ‘She looks too pretty, take down the blush or the mascara, take it off.’ Fashion was my rebellion.”

Emma Watson opens up to WWD about finally moving on from Harry Potter.

Fashism, the Hot or Not for street style, just closed its first round of funding, and some pretty major celebs have signed on.

Ashton Kutcher, Nina Garcia, Demi Moore, and a bunch of investment firms–SV Angel, High Line Venture Partners, NV Investment, Vast Ventures, and Rick Webb–have raised $1 million for the New York-based company.

Fashism‘s premise is stupidly smart: Users post pictures of outfits and others give their feedback by voting and commenting on each look. It’s particularly popular with teenagers, but we’ve been surprised by how many late-twenty-somethings are into it as well.

What’s the injection of cash going to do for Fashism? Well for one, they’ll be able to hire more people and add new functions to the site. Given the influx of user-generated e-commerce in the fashion space, some retail component makes sense. Maybe that’s why FourSquare’s Dennis Crowley and plaid shirt hero Steven Alan have come on board as advisers.

Thought that you’d seen the last of Olivia Palermo on the small screen after The City got the boot? Think again.

The villainous star of the MTV scripted reality series has confirmed that she is working on her own TV show, Elle.com is reporting.

“I’m currently working on a TV project, my own show,” Palermo said at Mango’s spring show in Barcelona this week (she and boyfriend Johannes Huebl star in the brand’s latest campaign).

It’s doubtful Palermo’s new show will have anything to do with the mag that she “worked” at while on The City, and it’s only coincidence that her former “employer” is breaking the news. Though it would be awesome if Palermo’s City enemy Erin Kaplan could have a few cameos on her new show to mutter some cutting asides. Just for old times’ sake.

If you’re a beauty and potion junkie always searching for a new fix, your chance to score is getting easier. Space NK, that bastion of upscale and hard-to-find beauty brands, just opened its sixth freestanding store, on the Upper East Side of NYC.

Space NK, founded by Nicky Kinnaird in the UK in 1993, hit the US in 2007 when the NYC Soho store opened. Since then, it’s opened five additional stores (all in the NYC metropolitan area). The company also recently opened a total of 14 store-within-store boutiques in various Bloomingdale’s in New York, Massachusetts, California, New Jersey, and Florida. When I asked about more freestanding stores in the US outside of New York, Nicky told me in no uncertain terms, “There will be more, but we’ve got to be ready to handle it. We’ve got to get the infrastructure done.”

I got a tour of the new Lexington Avenue store by none other than Nicky herself.

Sofia Coppola is my style icon. I love every, single thing she’s ever worn on the red carpet, mostly because she dresses for herself and no one else. One secret dream of mine–other than owning a Sofia Coppola x Louis Vuitton bag–is that she create another clothing collection. A sequel to her 1990s line MilkFed, perhaps? A spin on her piece for Lutz & Patmos? Last night I stood on the red carpet at the Lanvin x H&M runway show to ask her just that. And she answered me, wearing a dotty button down, fur coat, cropped trousers and simple ankle-strap heels. Swoon. (Also, if you could please forgive the pathetic quality of the video–it was a spontaneous moment!–I’d be much obliged. Figured you’d like to see it no matter how goofy it looks.)

Lanvin x H&M hits Saturday morning in the US. Where can you get it? Here’s the full list of stores, alphabetical by state:

It’s a rare day when fashion people actually look like they’re having fun–pure, unadulterated fun–at a runway show. But tonight at the Pierre Hotel, Alber Elbaz debuted his Lanvin x H&M collection. So things were different.

The Scene: A tiny ballroom at the Pierre Hotel on the Upper East Side, and a runway decorated with mounds of hydrangeas. (Inspired by Yves Saint Laurent, who liked to decorate his runways similarly.)

The Players: Friends Sofia Coppola and Anna Sui (who wore a mix of Lanvin and her own designs), Andie Macdowell (the only person who makes me wish my hair was curly again), Alex Wang, Sally Singer, Grace Coddington, Emma Roberts, Elettra Wiedemann, and a gaggle of bloggers, including Fashionista favorites Susie Bubble, Phil Oh, and Bryan Boy.

The Runway:Yes, the one-of-a-kind versions of the H&M collection were stunning. But really, it was all about the atmosphere. And Anna Dello Russo. The models pranced down the runway much like they used to before the ’90s, “making love with the camera,” if you will. But of course ADR stole the show, stomping down the catwalk with a grey poodle. We love Anna, but a poodle makes her irresistible.
