You could avoid the problem of them taking over your living space by renting out another apartment for your hats, à l’ADR ;)
As a lover and constant wearer of hats, one of the main challenges (in your average home) is how to store them so they remain in good condition, are easy to find and don’t take over your living space. ADR, the goddess of style, has solved this problem by making hair pieces a RELIGION, building a SHRINE to them and filling it with VESTAL VIRGINS (wig heads). Anna, I worship at your shrine.
Mere mortals layer them in large hat boxes and make artistic (hopefully) displays of the most frequently worn ones. ADR, being the embodiment of fashion has devoted her life, income and apartment space to the worship of hairpieces and suchlike. I bow at her altar, but I can’t afford her real estate.

Now that BLow has passed, she is probably right. God bless the stylish risk takers and eccentric fashionistas for without them fashion itself would just a boring recycling session year to year. ADR is adorable.
