Style.com’s Reality Show: Online Only?

Tuesday, Nov 30, 2010 / 1:39 PM

Excited for North of Madison?

We’ve heard rumblings from multiple sources that Style.com’s reality show might end up airing on the web, rather than television.

Why would Style.com air the series online? Two possible reasons: 1. They haven’t yet found a channel that wants to buy it. 2. They’re positioning the series as a web feature in order to attract more readers to the site on a regular basis.

As we’ve said before, Elle.com has benefited greatly from its exposure on Project Runway and The City, so we’re not sure #2 is that viable. And truthfully, we really hope this thing gets picked up, because we hate watching anything longer than two minutes online.

I think i might actually like to see it on line , as sort of a niche programming; like that model program from vogue a couple years back ( whom are sort of sucessful, i only remember Cato)

Remember how the CW producers thought Gossip Girl was a flop because the ratings were low till they realized a billion people watched it online?

“Does anyone even watch TV on TV anymore?”

I’d most def watch it online… I don’t even watch TV on TV anymore… we stopped paying for cable because I could find all the shows I wanted to watch online. Gossip Girl was the first show I ever watched online and the episode is up 30 minutes after it cuts off… I love the digital age :)
