If you couldn’t tell, we just can’t get enough of Lanvin Hearts H&M!
From the incredibly produced video to the special editors pre-sale event, we’re head-over-heels for Alber’s newest venture. H&M and Lanvin seem to be just as excited as we are, because they’ve created a ton of content to keep buyers and bloggers busy swooning over. The unsung hero of today’s Lanvin-apalooza is the stellar look book starring Irina Lazareanu.
Showing each look styled to perfection in an opulent hotel room, Irina gives Jamie Bochert’s SS10 Lanvin ads a run for their money in the category of most dramatic.
Here we’ve compiled our favorite looks from the lookbook that we’ll be emulating when we get our hands on Lanvin Hearts H&M.

I’m sorry. I’m not convinced. I love Alber. I love Lanvin. I hate H&M. Yes they are good at marketing and creating beautiful campaigns. However, it will be difficult to actually purchase a dress with all this hype. Buying a beautiful dress in a beautiful atmosphere is part of the experience. This experience is bound to be an anxiety attack. I will wait a few years until I can afford a real Lanvin.
I kinda feel the same way, and I’m only ambivalent about H&M (certainly not hate.) The idea of waiting in line to purchase oversize polyester bowties gives me anxiety.
The poufy dresses are 100% silk…polyester my ***.
I most definitely agree. It’s going to be a massive attack. I’ve seen the store footage of the Sonia Rykiel collection release, and it was terrifying. The video campaign for Lanvin was killer, just like this hype.

i agree with the anxiety-inducing-ness of all the hype, but I think this collaboration might actually be worth it! can’t say i’ve felt that way about other high-low collabs…theworkinggirlesq.blogspot.com
But the fabrics….what do you think they will offer?
Unfortunately, I didn’t get an opportunity to get my hands on any of the stuff that Lagerfeld did for/with H&M, nor did I even get a chance to see it in person. But I would think that a Lagerfeld collaboration would have yielded the highest possible results in terms of fabric and quality – even if all subsequent collaborations might have paled in comparison (I don’t really know – I can only speculate, but I was disappointed with the Matthew Williamson offerings [at least for men]).
I mention this because like Lagerfeld, Alber is known for his love of quality. I just can’t see him standing by a product that is less than stellar. BUT, then again, on the other hand, let’s be honest…it’s still H&M. And even if Lagerfeld made sure that the fabrics were top-notch (within the confines of what the H&M warehouses can offer, of course – but again, I don’t know cuz I haven’t seen it [wishful thinking]), every other designer collabo I’ve seen from them has left me feeling very, “Meh…”
I’m being realistic about the fabrication…don’t think the it will be amazing, but I’m choosing to have faith in Alber’s unfailing commitment to quality that it won’t be as dreadful as the usual collabs. I didn’t see the Lagerfeld collection, butI’m not the biggest Lagerfeld fan to begin with(I appreciate the talent, just doesn’t knock my socks off), so Lanvin x H&M is getting me a bit more excited–at the very least I think it has the most potential of all the collabs so far! Twitter pics without the fancy lighting seem promising–perhaps even enough to justify the high price tag? Final judgment will def be when/if I finally see them in person. Most likely though, I’ll be too lazy to stand in line and miss out on anything decent.
But then I can save the money for real Lanvin at Barney’s Warehouse at the same price! Win win! :)
No likey Lagerfeld?! OMG…I have a tummy ache. Karl Lagerfeld is the absolute living end. That man is…well, he does many, many things to me. I’ll just say that.
Meanwhile, yes, I’ve tried to be realistic about the collection, as well. After I posted my original response to this thread, I spoke with a friend in NY who had an opportunity to preview the collection before it hit stores (he’s provided photos of it on his FB page) – it seems promising. I’m crossing my fingers.
I’m still not in the tax bracket to be able to afford Lanvin just yet, so I’m gonna be at H&M regardless. LOL
There are some good looks, especially for upcoming parties and celebrations – the tuxedo jacket with satin lapels, the beautiful patterned dark pink cocktail dress and a couple of the black dresses are my favourites. You have to step aside from the hysteria and only buy things that really suit you and that you have the occasion to wear.
Nobody who’s actually seen the collection up close has mentioned the fabric..what is it..shiny cheap taffeta that most will wear only because the label says Lanvin..I have not seen one designer collection piece from H&M that was worth the purchase without the designer label or the inflated price tag. Alber Elbaz is amazing, but did he chose the garment fabrics that will go into mass production, or just those in the ad campaign. Who knows..maybe I’m too cynical for my own good.
