If you’re not the type who worries about fitting into transparent underwear, then this is the gift for you: Nudo’s Adopt an Olive Tree Program. Fostering an Italian olive tree entitles the recipient to a year’s worth of hand-pressed olive oil from her or his very own sapling. That’s way more bang for your buck than that whale we adopted a few years back from the World Wildlife Fund — he never sent us anything good.

There were also some questionable choices on this year’s list. We did wonder if you need $1,225 jeweled mink earmuffs from Lanvin to keep your ears warm, but then we thought maybe some people have special ears. We don’t judge.
