We’re always curious as to why we don’t see Hilary Rhoda in more magazines.

Maybe it’s because she’s so rich that she doesn’t have to do editorials? Maybe it’s because she doesn’t like doing them? Maybe it’s because her All-American looks don’t work in high fashion?

Yes, we realize that final suggestion is preposterous. But Rhoda’s card for her new New York agency, Women, is more directional than anything we’ve seen her do recently. And that’s not saying much.

We’re wondering if the move from IMG–best known for repping commercial models like Tyra Banks–means that Ms. Estee Lauder is looking to book some Love editorials.

hmm we don’t see her much in edits anymore because her high fashion “moment” is over, and yes her lovely face is a little too safe for the current trend of visual exaggerations a la wixson.

i much prefer her in more commercial work tbh. she has a natural look that’s a healthier reflection of feminine beauty and thus better for wider audiences.

leave editorials to girls who perpetuate the surreal fantasy that keeps us all enthralled.

To suggest Women will be able to get her more editorial work than IMG is a bit strange. They’re both terrific agencies who get their top girls the top editorial work. They are by far the two top agencies in NY. Women may have promised her whatever it is she felt IMG wasn’t doing for her, but I for one don’t think the move will really do anything for her career. Yes, maybe she’ll get an editorial with Dazed and Confused or V or something but at her level, is that really that meaningful? Will Women be able to get her say a Prada campaign b/c IMG couldn’t? I don’t think so. IMG and Ivan Bart made her a star. Click her old agency did nothing for her. At best this is a lateral move.
