1. Sometimes, Tumblr tumbles. Despite the awesome access the Tumblrs received, including a private party at Donna Karan, breakfast with Nina Garcia, and more, the week’s events were reportedly badly organized.
2. Strippers are the new new thing. From go go girls at Rag & Bone‘s after party to casino hostesses at Karen Walker, topless dancers haven’t been this big since Striptease.
3. If you are under 21, you can still DJ an over-21 party. Thanks for the lesson in NY State law, Tavi.
4. Celebrity bloggers are becoming real celebrities. Rumi Neely and Jane Aldridge are reportedly in talks to become Chanel ambassadors. Take that, haters. Bloggers are the new socialites.
5. Theory produces 35% of its clothing in the USA. You tell ‘em, Andrew Rosen.
6. Ally Hilfiger is for real. Her collection, Nahm, was well-received. (PS, we loved Rich Girls.)
7. Mac & Milk is cool, but so is showing off site. Especially when even the most important buyers aren’t being let into the building due to overcrowding.
8. Who Knew Heart Truth would spawn a trend? We love the red dresses that were EVERYWHERE this season.
9. Those blond girls? They’re the Clarins sisters.
10. You gotta have a gimmick. At least when it comes to runway theatricals. (See Band of Outsiders, Jen Kao, and Elise Øverland for examples.)

Bloggers rep’ing Chanel??! holy fashion christ. H&M etc is one thing, but… !
I think they’re picking the wrong bloggers. I mean, Rumi would be great for someone like Alex Wang but her entire look is the antithesis of Chanel. Chanel should go with someone like Kelly Framel of the Glamourai.
oooh, or ME… Chanel could always go with ME, just sayin’ xo

of chanel simply shouldn’t use bloggers as ambassadors.
who the hell are they either ways (rhetorical question)
seriously, bloggers piss me off.
I love this list – and I must say I think Chanel is making a great move…and probably will pave the way for many other labels…but let’s be honest, that is nothing new. Chanel is always paving the way!
Much love,
B
clarins sisters rock! ;)

ANND thank you Andrew Rosen, for point #5 – the fashion industry has such a huge influence & such massive spending power – a little more production in the US would be great for the industry & great for US economy in general…

Can you please point out the connection between Karen Walker and strippers? I’m just not seeing it. The collection was inspired by Wigan Casino, a venue that was renowned for northern soul music in the 70s and 80s. It wasn’t a casino with naked hostesses in it…
