Lift Lab: This recently launched line of high-end skin care was started by a biotech entrepreneur who worked with a protein found in subarctic fish. The substance, Cell Protection Protein (CPP), protects cells from injury. Its original commercial purpose–once it’s outside the fish, of course–was to preserve human organs that were headed for transplantation. Trippy.

With its documented protective and cell regenerative properties, CPP makes a perfect skin care ingredient. With the addition of other active ingredients, a small four-product line was born.

The signature potions are the Lift and Fix High Potency Solution (designed for post-procedure angry skin to enhance healing) and Lift and Repair Treatment Serum (loaded with peptides and proteins). A posh moisturizing cream and eye cream complete the line. The packaging is minimalistic and the scent is clean and pleasant. The Lift and Fix seems to have an immediate effect. I’ve been trying to make the drops in my little sample last through the winter.
