Amar’e Stoudemire and Anna Wintour became fast friends last fashion week–the editrix personally invited the Knicks’ star to attend the Fashion’s Night Out runway spectacular and later that week Stoudemire sat front row at Tommy Hilfiger, flanked by Wintour and Hamish Bowles.

Wintour has put a basketball player on the cover of Vogue before–LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen covered the mag’s April 2008 issue (which garnered controversy for being racially insensitive)–so rumors quickly followed that Wintour was keen on Stoudemire for a cover. Only Stoudemire later told the New York Daily News that “Anna [Wintour] will bless me to be on the cover of Vogue, but it hasn’t happened yet.”

But now the Page Six is reporting that the stylish b-baller was shot for Vogue‘s April issue. “Hamish Bowles and the Vogue team took over Riverside Boulevard apartment building The Alydn’s full-size basketball court earlier this week,” sources told Page Six. No confirmation yet on whether Stoudemire’s got the all-important cover, but we’ve been seeing internet chatter for months that suggests he might get it.

Rachel Zoe is far too pregnant to schlep to New York to show her debut contemporary collection at NYFW. Luckily, she’s released the full lookbook.

Zoe describes her collection as “uptown chic and downtown cool infused with Parisian elegance and London street style.” There’s a lot of YSL le smoking-inspired tuxes and suiting, and ’70s style boho silk blouses with bows and tiered ruffled dresses. It’s all very Zoe, even though, she previously told WWD, “I’d imagine everybody is expecting something from me that’s kind of a Seventies, uberboho-glam kind of thing, and, you know, very accessorized. And it’s not.” Judge for yourself. “Seventies uberboho-glam” or not, it’s all pretty cute and utterly wearable.

This morning may have brought yet another resignation of a longtime Barneys employee–this time it was Michael Celestino, who ran store operations for 20 years–but the changes aren’t just happening internally.

The Madison Avenue flagship recently revealed new awnings–black lattice instead of red cloth–and everything red has been removed from the store, replaced by black and white.

Barneys’ Spring 2011 campaign–”Backstage”–also captures the store’s new slick black and white theme. The images were taken behind the scenes at New York, London, Milan, and Paris Fashion Weeks by the likes of Nan Goldin, Juergen Teller, and Raymond Meyer. The spread reminds us of New York Look–the mag’s brilliant/defunct biannual publication.

Just in case you hadn’t gotten your daily dose of Kardashian (and you probably already have, but you know you wanna look anyway), here is Kim Kardashian photographed by Terry Richardson, paying homage to Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar (on newsstands February 22)– she even wears one of Elizabeth Taylor’s original Cleopatra robes for the shoot. And if you thought this was just another Kim Kardashian editorial (albeit with clothes on this time), think again–she also interviews Elizabeth Taylor. Really.

Here’s a highlight (read the full interview here):

KIM KARDASHIAN : You are my idol. But I’m six husbands and some big jewels behind. What should I do?
ELIZABETH TAYLOR: I never planned to acquire a lot of jewels or a lot of husbands. For me, life happened, just as it does for anyone else. I have been supremely lucky in my life in that I have known great love, and of course I am the temporary custodian of some incredible and beautiful things. But I have never felt more alive than when I watched my children delight in something, never more alive than when I have watched a great artist perform, and never richer than when I have scored a big check to fight AIDS. Follow your passion, follow your heart, and the things you need will come.

Chances are David’s Bridal never crossed your lips–let alone your mind–as your wedding gown destination. Then came Vera Wang.
