When Ann Taylor unveiled its collection designed by last year’s CFDA Fashion Fund nominees, we oohed and awed. And pouted. Because despite the fact that we would have bought the entire capsule–and we mean that–it was not produced.

Today, we received good news that the samples–created by Joseph Altuzarra, Prabal Gurung, Billy Reid, and Loden Dager, to name a few–are now up for auction on eBay, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the CFDA. Unfortunately, unless you’re a size zero–and a Karlie Kloss zero at that–the only options are to bid on jewelry and accessories by Eddie Borgo and Pamela Love. Oh, and Robert Geller’s outfit, which is a much more reasonable size 4.

While we admit that those are pretty good options, we still wish Ann Taylor would have produced a proper collection with these guys. Mostly because I want the Loden Dager outfit real bad.

“My mum was like, ‘You cannot spend that amount of money on a coat,’ and I was like ‘No, you’re right I can’t, I can’t.’ And then literally it was months, months of thinking about it and thinking ‘I’m not going to do it, I’m not going to do it.’ But then she said ‘Right, if you’re going to buy it, you have to wear it all the time.’”

We’ve seen pop-up shops. We’ve seen shops-on-wheels. But Tommy Hilfiger is taking the idea of a temporary boutique to another level. In honor of the label’s collaboration with Preppy Handbook author Lisa Burnbach, Hilfiger and co. have built an 800 square foot “traveling beach cottage,” which opens in New York City on April 28. The cottage–which we’re assuming is of the pre-fab variety–will be open for a week in Manhattan. It will then be moved to two other US cities, as well as a slew of foreign ones, including Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, Stockholm, Madrid, Belgium, and Tokyo.

Prep World, the capsule collection sold in this nifty outpost, is an homage to “Hilfiger’s preppy classics with a twist,” Tommy.com. But we’d much prefer to see it up close in that house, which will literally seem as though it has fallen from the sky.

Here’s the thing about most fashion magazine websites: They suck.

Yet we appreciate Elle‘s online presence. Mostly because the team puts a concerted effort into producing original content that is as compelling as what’s in the magazine. Also because it’s not simply a wasteland for PR favors. And finally, because Britt runs the blog. (It’s good. If you’re not reading it daily, you should be.)

Why is this glossy different from the rest? Elle gets that most mag-connected sites are jumbled messes that aren’t particularly easy to navigate or fun to read.

But despite Elle.com being better than the rest, editorial director Keith Pollock and co. still weren’t satisfied with what they had to offer their readers. So they’ve gotten a face lift.
