On a trip to Shanghai last year, L.A. based designer Geren Ford discovered a little-known Chinese artist, LanLan, whose work dates back to the 1930s–an era of style that fits perfectly with Ford’s effortlessly elegant yet simple aesthetic.

LanLan’s luggage played muse to leather jackets and mini skirts in a creamy burnt amber hue. Ford takes a cue from 1930s style by giving basic sweaters and henley shirts sex appeal with inserts of sheer fabrics.

Pilati Isn’t Going Anywhere: YSL confirmed via Twitter today that the rumor that this would be Stefano Pilati’s last season at YSL is just that–a rumor. “From YSL HQ in Paris… Pilati busy working on the next collection. All the rumors unfounded – he is here to stay,” the tweet read. Rumors always come from somewhere, and this one’s been floating around for a while. But we’ve got to believe YSL, and hope Pilati blows us out of the water with his fall collection next week. {@Y_S_L}

Previous reports had Kate Moss designing her own wedding dress for her upcoming nuptials to rocker Jamie Hince. When the Daily Mail asked Vivienne Westwood if she’d been approached to design Moss’s dress the designer said she thought Moss was designing it herself. “She has done her own fashion range and she knows about clothes,” Westood told the paper. “She knows what she is doing, she doesn’t need my help.”

But today the Telegraph confirms that Moss’s longtime friend John Galliano is actually designing the gown.

If you work in this industry long enough, you start to notice things. Strange things that otherwise might never occur to you. These last couple weeks have given us lots to ponder about ourselves and our colleagues. The amount of time Leah and I have spent discussing this stuff almost supersedes the amount of time we’ve spent chatting about runway trends. (Yeah, we’re voyeurs.) Have you noticed any of this? And is it all happening outside of the fashion walls?
