Richard Chai Love Fall 2011: Layer After Layer

The first day of fashion week is only halfway over but we can already tell that this fall, it will be all about the layers. With cold air circulating through the tents, Chai's collection of pleated skirts over tailored pants and oversize wool blazers atop wool wrap coats couldn't have looked more irresistible from our perch. In a sea of muted earthy hues like charcoal, moss, smokey lavender, and nutmeg, we were pleasantly surprised by a mop of bright pink hair, a few metallic embroidered tops, and a maxi dress with floral printed draping.

We spied Phillip Lim, squished between Marie Claire and Elle editors (one of whom we caught attempting to snap photos of him while he wasn't looking), cheered on his pal from the front row.
