PARIS–Here’s a rumor that makes absolutely no sense but a credible source swears it’s true: Blake Lively is allegedly refusing to attend Chanel, even though she’s the face of the brand, because, our source says, “she thinks it’s tacky for a celebrity like herself to attend the show.” Instead, she’s planning to host a dinner during Paris Fashion Week to give press the opportunity to chat with the face of Chanel’s new Mademoiselle handbag line. And we hear it’s quickly become a hot-ticket item.

This doesn’t make sense for several reasons: firstly, Blake Lively sat front row at Chanel Couture Fall 2010/11 last July; second, Chanel’s celebrity faces–like Marion Cotillar, Keira Knightley and Lily Allen–have all sat front row in the past, and there was nothing tacky about it. But a similar event is being thrown for Lively in NYC in advance of the Chanel show, so maybe there could be something to this? We’ll see on March 8!
