After last week’s battle between The-Coveted.com and TheCoveted.com–the new website that takes a peek inside the homes of fashion favorites–the latter has decided to changed its name to The Coveteur. Here’s the email received from co-founder Stephanie Mark this morning:
After the recent on-line buzz regarding our use of thecoveted.com, we write to advise you that as of tomorrow our business will be rebranded as The Coveteur and henceforth we will be using that name and our new website www.thecoveteur.com. Using the name “The Coveteur”, we will transition to a brand identity that we feel better encapsulates our concept. In regards to the legal issues surrounding our dispute with the-coveted.com, we refer you to our statement on www.thecoveted.com and are happy to be able to put these issues behind us. So, as of February 2, 2011, we will be known as “The Coveteur” and we look forward to bringing you new and exciting content weekly. Thank you for all of your support.
Sincerely,
Erin and Stephanie
If you go to TheCoveted.com, it says “If you are looking for Jennine Jacob and Coveted Media LLC’s website “The Coveted” at “the-coveted.com” please click here. UPDATE: Our new website is now active. Please visit us at www.thecoveteur.com and add our new website to your favorites.”
We think this is the right move. Mark and Erin Kleinberg have a good thing going, and it was almost ruined by this kerfuffle. By respecting Jacob and the work she’s done for the fashion blogging community, they’ll slowly but surely earn that community’s respect.

Jennine’s comment on the resolution of this “issue” on her site was much more gracious than Erin and Stephanie’s. Sorry, they’ve already left a bad taste in my mouth and I’ll still be reluctant to go their site.
I agree with Willa. Unprofessional to have not done their homework prior to all this. Lost opportunity.
Thank God this is now resolved and Jennine can concentrate on her personal blog, IFB and Evolving Influence.
While it’s great that they got here sooner or later, it was also an expected outcome. Good on them for not being totally ridiculous and drawing this out through a court case, domain arbitration and other procedures which would have taken more time and money BUT the arrogance if you contrast this with Jennine Jacob’s statement still appears to be there.
That probably won’t bother most people who visit the site, but a little humility – even if it’s late – could have served them well. More here:

Everyone will forget about this when the next scandal occurs and people will continue flocking to both sites.

glad this is over and worked out amicably but i still have a sour taste in my mouth re the way it went down.
