Watch: Nicola Formichetti’s Inspiration For Mugler Fall 2011, Plus Lady Gaga To Reveal a New Track During the Show
By Leah ChernikoffMugler–under Nicola Formichetti’s creative direction the label is now just called “Mugler” instead of “Thierry Mugler”–has steadily been rolling out “inspiration images” in advance of Formichetti’s first women’s collection for the brand which shows Wednesday night in Paris. The shiny black alien-like sculpture we saw glimpses of in the inspiration photos is now more clearly revealed in this new video. Meaning, we can see the sculpture in its entirety and in greater detail, but what the hell it is or what it means for Formichetti’s collection we can only begin to guess. Which makes us even more excited to see his show.
Another reason to get excited for Mugler (which will stream live on Wednesday 2nd March at starting at 9PM CET/3 PM EST on the brand’s Facebook page–and is still listed as Theirry Mugler for some reason)? Lady Gaga, naturally.
Formichetti and Gaga go together like bacon and chocolate (trust me, those things go together), and Gaga will serve as musical director for the runway show as she did for Formichetti’s men’s show in January. What’s more, Gaga will reveal a new, never before heard track during the show. You’re welcome little monsters!
