Who Should Wear What To the Oscars: Our Red Carpet Suggestions
By Steff Yotka
Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence has been wearing all the most editorial dresses from all the big names on the red carpet lately, so I’d bet that she has something amazing up her sleeve for the Oscars. This extravagant Giles look has red carpet appeal, as does his design for Ungaro. Nothing would be quite as jaw-dropping as this Alexander McQueen, which is truly a show-stopper.

hmm, so you suppose Natalie has already determined Galliano guilty? All we’ve really heard is a smattering of heresay…
well i think its more to side on caution and not throw salt to the fire. on that note it would be interesting what choice she will take, maybe she’ll be contractually obligated or thrown lots of money too.
anyway, i just posted my own oscar take on my blog: jerrlife.blogspot.com
But more importantly cannot wait to see with Michelle Williams will wear. She’s fantastic.
On Natalie’s slide, the scarlet gown is labelled Jason Wu, not Derek Lam, and there is no Alexis Mabille in sight.
I agree with Farrah. It’s pretty outrageous (especially when this was published) to make those kind of assumptions. The whole things is a mess that demonstrates how incredibly sensitive we all are to language – certain language especially. http://www.thefashioncult.com/2011/02/the-galliano-debacle-a-fashion-fractal-of-how-language-fails-us/

You also have the blue sequin Peter Som and blue floral Isaac Mizrahi switched around.
I have decided my combination http://casaamica.blogspot.com/2011/02/and-oscar-goes-to.html
I would love to see Michelle Williams in the spring McQueen butterfly dress. It’s so dramatic and beautiful that the short length wouldn’t be inappropriate for the Oscars.

For Jennifer Lawrence, I’d love to see the newcomer in that gorgeous white Versace that had the little cuttouts below the bust and the just-revealing-enough cutout in the lower back. I’d love to see Nicole Kidman in one of those tech-fabric dresses from Armani Prive, or that delicate mauve embellished dress (look #26) from Marchesa. And Annette would look super chic in look 35 from Carolina Herrera, the sheer black, long-sleeved wrap dress. She’s one of those people that could pull it off with a fab necklace in a heartbeat.
great job on the picks. I think you did better than their stylists!
Thanks so much!!
SOME OF THESE GUESSES ARE SPOT ON!!!!!!
Nice work fashionista; I’m impressed
Really impressive- lots of these were super accurate. Loved Cate in the Givenchy, too- totally different than what it would have looked like on Hailee, but still amazing.
