Katy Perry can now add another product endorsement to her resume. This time it’s for UK haircare brand GHD (which stands for “good hair day”). GHD is a high-end brand known primarily for its stylers, which are flat irons that also make curls and waves. They come in a range of sizes for all hair lengths and types. They’ve won tons of industry awards, but that good reputation will cost you: they retail for about $225, so it’s definitely an investment.
Their line of hair care products is geared towards heat styling, UV protection, and color preservation. There’s a full range of styling products and shampoos/conditioners. It’s tough to find ghd in the US, but you can check their website. Bottles of product run about $30.
So what’s the deal with the Katy Perry collab? Obviously she has ties to the UK now, thanks to her marriage to Russell Brand, and she’s about to embark on her “California Dreams 2011” tour, for which GHD will be a sponsor. The global campaign featuring Katy’s rather enviable shiny tresses was shot by photographer David La Chapelle. (Shots are being kept under wraps for the moment.)
Says the brand of Katy’s style: “Katy is the epitome of modern fashion and styling. Her unique, ever changing looks are the envy of style devotees around the world.”
I don’t know about envy, but she’s definitely unique. We’re looking forward to seeing the photos—they’re sure to be colorful and peppy.
