Latest Gossip From Paris: Tisci to Dior, Ackermann to Givenchy, Slimane to YSL
By Lauren Sherman
Clearly the only thing anyone in Paris is talking about this week is John Galliano, and who will replace him at Dior.
The latest gossip goes something like this: Riccardo Tisci will indeed replace Galliano at Christian Dior, Haider Ackermann will slip into Tisci’s spot at Givenchy, and despite YSL’s vehement denial otherwise, Hedi Slimane is about to take over for Stefano Pilati. Oh, and yes, Carine Roitfeld is coming along for the ride. What’s more, if Ackermann is out of the running at Chanel, does that mean its Alber Elbaz’s when Karl purportedly retires in 2012?
We’ve heard all of this before, so who knows what will actually happen. But one thing’s for sure, Galliano’s ousting has changed the face of Paris fashion forever.

Oh my Godddd too many rumors to digest at once.
oh please stop with this YSL rumor, stefano is not going anywhere and hedi would never go to YSL and Carine just signed a huge contract with Chanel, so get it straight please.
What’s your source on the Carine/Chanel thing, can you elaborate on that further? You seem to speak about these things like they’re common knowledge and Lauren is falling seriously short for not reporting on it, so please enlighten us all. It certainly sounds peculiar, for despite being an extremely glamorous French fashionista, I don’t associate Carine with Chanel at ALL.
I am a lot more excited for Tisci at Dior that I would’ve been a year or two ago. There’s been so much beautiful Givenchy around this year. I do hope, though, that they bring in someone who can amp up their accessories, as I don’t think those are Tisci’s strength. There’s nothing wrong with that, as his clothes are so virtuosic, but Dior needs to live up to their big sister Vuitton in that department.
Don’t you think that bringing Tisci into Dior, will alienate the Dior Client? I am in awe of his work at Givenchy, but those are two different women…
i wish riccardo will stay at dior. like langrove said, the tisci-givenchy woman definitely isn’t the same one as the typical dior lady.
haider ackermann should replace galliano
