Illamasqua, the UK makeup brand known for its bright colors and eccentric artist-cum-Creative Director Alex Box, is gaining a bit of a foothold here in the US. It’s sold at Sephora and has been blessed by Pat Field.
With the release of its new Toxic Nature nail lacquers–coming in April–we suspect the brand will pick up more fans.
There are five colors in the collection and they’re inspired by “nature fighting back against the genetically modified society that plunders it.” Don’t get too caught up in the message; the colors are really cool.
The line consists of: Purity (peach), Radium (acidic lime shimmer), Gamma (neon orange), Bacterium (pearlescent ash ochre), Stagnate (grey mauve).
The colors are really rich, the formula goes on smoothly, and so far one coat hasn’t chipped after a couple days. I’m strangely attracted to the Radium–a sickly iridescent neon green. Maybe OPI’s Shrek paved the way, but my eye likes this color.
