“There are always those who preach, who say ‘how can a Jew defend anyone accused of such slurs,” he says. “My job as a lawyer is to guarantee that a person gets a fair trial and that his rights will be protected. I am wary of pre-judgment, that’s not my job…. [John Galliano] is hardly the devil. I never would have taken the case had I thought that.” –Stephane Zerbib, Galliano’s Jewish lawyer, regarding the defense of his client to Y Net News.

Organic and natural beauty brands are popping up faster than you can say “paraben free” lately. Consumers want more products that are free of nastiness and synthetic chemicals. And companies are obliging, in droves.

Lindsey Wixson’s recent “makeup allergy” after a show in Paris is a good reminder that the things we put on and in our bodies have active ingredients that can mess with our biology.

Most people want products that work and are pleasant to use. But if using natural or organic versions is also important to you, you’re in luck. There are so many brands filling this niche now, from homegrown to luxurious.

Click through for three brands that have committed to sustainable, natural beauty products that are fun, too.

In today’s WWD, the trade paper polled the buyers for the world’s major department stores for their thoughts on Paris Fashion Week. What were their favorite collections and what trends stood out?

McQueen, Lanvin, Celine, and Balenciaga was the resounding chorus. Several top buyers named Dior and Galliano among their favorite collections, which is interesting to note, because they’ll presumably be buying pieces from the collections for their stores.

PARIS–Mila Kunis was a hot ticket at yesterday’s Miu Miu show. She looked stunning considering she had only touched down in Paris five hours prior and told us she was “barely, barely” awake. No fewer than three EIC’s of major American glossies–Elle‘s Robbie Myers (with Joe Zee leading the way), Bazaar‘s Glenda Bailey and Marie Claire‘s Joanna Coles–stopped by to chat up the starlet. So expect to see her covering numerous glossies in the coming months.

We figure at least one of these covers will be timed to the July release of her new movie Friends With Benefits costarring Justin Timberlake. (Guess it’s just a coincidence that her Black Swan costar Natalie Portman came out with No Strings Attached, a movie about friends with benefits, last month? Also in French No Strings Attached is called Sex Friends.)

Next up, she tells us she’s going into production on a film called Ted with Mark Wahlberg, directed by Seth MacFarlane. “They’re both very funny,” she assures us regarding her next films. “They’re definitely not Black Swan.”

Speaking of Black Swan, we asked if Kunis had any thoughts on her costumes in the film and that whole drama surrounding who got credit for them.

America’s favorite blond turns 52 today! Though, I swear she doesn’t look a day over 23….

By now we all know that Blake Lively is the ambassador for Chanel’s new “Mademoiselle” line of handbags. More images, including some behind-the-scenes shots, were released today.

The ad we showed you a few days ago is the best of the lot–the most dynamic. But there’s no mistaking that Blake looks very Chanel in all of them. The dark tousled hair and absence of a perky smile adds to the sophisticated glam factor.

And the picture of Blake smiling at Karl is really endearing. What do you suppose he’s saying to her?

PARIS–If Miuccia Prada had outfitted Madonna for her role as Mae Mordabito in A League of Their Own, it would look exactly like Miu Miu fall 2011, presented today at the Palais d’léna. Right down to the slightly-turned-to-the-side baseball caps, sporty wide set pointy collars over wool knits, and printed ’40s day dresses. (It was a formative movie for me, ok?)

Models hair was swept up at the sides in tortoise shell combs to match the ’40s style dresses in floral or bird prints set against tans and muted corals. When Prada’s baseball girl goes out swing dancing the ’40s silhouettes stay the same, only the backs of dresses are open, the shoulders and waists are wrapped with mink, and prints are painted on in glitter and sequins. The League of Their Own analogy holds only from the ankles up. Because while Mae wore saddle shoes out dancing and rabble-rousing, the Miu Miu girl for fall wears glittering platform heels that everyone is gonna want.

PARIS–At Miu Miu’s fall 2011 show this afternoon the label attracted a bevy of A-list starlets to their front row: Mila Kunis, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Lawrence, and reigning new princess of our best dressed lists, Hailee Steinfeld.

The 15-year-old best supporting actress nominee–who is styled by the fabulous duo of Kemal & Karla–exploded onto the scene with her role in True Grit, and has proven that she’s got the style savvy to back up her newly minted status as starlet-in-demand wearing Miu Miu, Prada and Prabal Gurung dresses on the red carpet that are adorable and gasp, age appropriate too.
