Last night, top designers and a flurry of philanthropic socials boarded the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at Pier 86 for the eighth annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares benefit. Hosted by retail impresario Jeffrey Kalinsky and co-chaired by interiors whiz Nate Berkus, the evening aimed to raise much-needed funds for a number of AIDS and LGBT-related charities. The soirée kicked off with cocktails, scrumptious sliders, and a little label-browsing–all for a good cause, of course. With sponsors ranging from designers Marc Jacobs, Read more »

The Puffer Coat–From Sleeping Bag to Fab: We can’t wait to retire our puffer coats when this never ending winter ends, and this time, we’re retiring the bulky jacket for good. Next fall, expect to see the puffer coat in new, much cooler styles. {WWD, subscription required}

Not Everyone Loves Lively: According to Gatecrasher, an employee at Chanel USA is dishing that not everyone at the house is as enamored by Blake Lively as Karl Lagerfeld. The source says that many feel that the all-American starlet and face of Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag line is “off-brand.” But obviously, what Karl says, goes. {NY Daily News Gatecrasher}

Miami Goes Gaga for a Fake Gaga: While the real Lady Gaga celebrated her 25th birthday in Vegas, an imposter ran around Miami, causing a stir among fans, sales associates and PR people. The faux Gaga made stops at “normal” stores like French Connection and Guess, prompting Guess’ PR Manager to send out a hurried press release announcing the singer’s presence. The spokesperson said that Gaga purchased the Lucy Lace Skirt–a mundane A-line skirt that clearly should have tipped people off that the lookalike was an imposter. {Page Six}

Laure Heriard Dubreuil, Frederic Dechnik, and Milan Vukmirovic opened Miami concept shop The Webster in 2009 to much fanfare. After all, Dubreuil and Dechnik were YSL alums and Vukmirovic helped found Colette.

Luckily for them–and us–their abilities far exceeded the impressiveness of their resumes. The Webster is now a go-to destination in Miami, much like Colette is in Paris or Opening Ceremony is in New York. And with that credibility comes the ability to expand your brand. The first step is an e-commerce site, which launched this month.

We recently met up with Dubreuil at Payard’s new downtown Manhattan location to chat about the web, why Miami is a great place for jet setters to…settle, and what’s next for her and her partners.

Vogue style director Alexandra Kotur is leaving the mag–where she’s worked for the past 15 years–to serve as creative director for Town & Country, WWD is reporting. It’s new EIC Jay Fielden‘s first major change at the mag, and you can be sure more will follow (given the sway he’s demonstrated to have over Vogue’s socials). Fielden and Kotur worked together at Vogue where he was a contributing editor and prior to that he was the EIC of Men’s Vogue. Kotur’s legacy at Vogue includes creating the “flash” section of the mag and, for a time, naming the week’s 10 best dressed for style.com.

When Lily Allen and her sister Sarah Owen opened their vintage shop Lucy in Disguise six months ago, Allen told Elle UK that she decided to open a store because “a) we love vintage and b) we’re not clothing designers.” Seems Allen will have to eat her words. Today brings news that Allen and her sister are launching an 18-piece ready-to-wear collection of dresses, inspired, naturally, by their favorite vintage pieces.

According to Vogue UK online, LVMH menswear style director Nadia Jones (sister of LVMH menswear style director Kim Jones) “helps Lily and Sarah create the styles from the vintage pieces they find – merging favourite details from the neckline of a dress or hem of a skirt to create their own designs.”

The collection launches in June–exclusively at Harvey Nichols in the UK and at Shopbop.com in the US–as well as at Lucy at Disguise in store and online. SheFinds is also reporting that Topshop will carry the line, dubbing Allen the “new Kate Moss for Topshop.”Update: SheFinds contacted us and apparently the Topshop news is false.

Hamish Bowles is fun to read in Vogue because while it’s too difficult to imagine most any Vogue staffer doing anything the slightest bit imperfect–let alone having a hair out place–Bowles always puts his mustachioed dapper self out there to report potentially humiliating first person stories. His latest story in which Knicks’ star and aspiring fashionisto Amar’e Stoudemire teaches him to play basketball takes the cake. But it’s not the only gem in Bowles’ canon of hilarious first person stunts for the fashion bible.

Here, his best, funniest, first person stories for Vogue:

Kanye West may have been turned away from a few fashion shows during Paris Fashion Week, but he’s still bent on breaking into the fashion industry in a serious way (remember fashion does “break his heart“). He mined A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou for advice and, ever determined to gain Paris’ respect, he’s got a collaboration in the works with famed French graphic design and art direction team M/M, Nowness is reporting. Michael Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak are the “M”s behind M/M, and in the past they’ve lent their talents to collaborations with Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Stella McCartney and Yohji Yamamoto, and served as art directors for Carine Roitfeld’s Vogue Paris.

File this one under: “Things I Didn’t Realize I Should Be Worried About and Now Can’t Stop Thinking About.” Have you considered your risk of getting décolletage wrinkles? No? Well, a Netherlands-based company thinks you should do something about this issue. Apparently if you sleep on your side, you run the risk of getting vertical wrinkle marks in your cleavage.

“Neck and dec” creams are nothing new; the New York Times ran a great feature on them back in August. Time and sun damage do affect the skin on your neck and neckline, but we hadn’t heard of mechanical help for this issue…until now.

TORONTO–It was a warm homecoming for Canadian designer Mark Fast who presented his Fall/Winter 2011 collection, which originally walked the runway at London Fashion Week, for the first time on Canadian soil after six successful seasons abroad. Fast and Toronto-based designer Mikhael Kale shared the runway inside the intimate and unfinished ballroom of Toronto’s soon-to-be Trump Tower.

Twisting the usual fashion routine, the show opened with a casual chat between the two designers and Jeanne Beker, host of Fashion Television. When asked how the idea for the runway show came to be, Kale expressed the genuine camaraderie amongst Canadian designers and the natural partnership between friends.
