Anne Slowey is Real Funny: Elle‘s Anne Slowey hilariously recounts some boozy safari she once took with some “Hollywood power players” for a story about how to wear tribal prints. Highlights? “We called ourselves ‘Bush in the Bush,’ to the delight of the male guests, if that helps bring the nature of this trip into focus,” and “Our main concerns were what time each day was gin o’clock and who among us was having very loud, robust sex all night with the incredibly handsome lead guide (it wasn’t me).” {Elle}

Street Style Gets Better With Age: And Nowness’s new short film with “Advanced Style” blogger Ari Seth Cohen and filmmaker Lina Plioplyte featuring New York’s most fashionable ladies of a certain age proves it. Street style stars take note–this is how it’s done. {NOWNESS}

Paz Throws a Punch: Paz de la Heurta drunkenly crashed into a table at the top of the Standard this past weekend, prompting model Samantha Swetra, who was hanging with Lindsay Lohan, to call out “triple axel!” Which quickly became not so funny as de la Heurta responded by punching Swetra in the face and throwing a glass at her leg. {Gatecrasher}

From Jennifer Aniston to the Biebs, it’s quite rare these days to find a celebrity who doesn’t have his or her own fragrance. That’s because a signature perfume can bring in millions of dollars each year.

And they have Elizabeth Taylor to thank for it. The actress, who died today at the age of 79, launched her scent White Diamonds in 1991. While she certainly wasn’t the first celebrity to come out with a scent, she was the first to do it well. And it’s still the best-selling celebrity fragrance in the world, bringing in $76.9 million globally in 2010. (That’s according to the Chicago-headquartered Euromonitor International, a market research firm that tracks this sort of thing.) Now, that number includes the flanker fragrances under the Elizabeth Taylor name, including Black Pearl and Passion. But White Diamonds alone brought in $61.3 million in 2010, which is still pretty unbelievable.

Whether your trip consists of a subway ride or a cross continent flight, it’s always nice to travel comfortably when you’re commuting for work.

But of course you’ve got to look put together, too.

For a great summer layering piece, consider T by Alexander Wang’s tactile knit cardigan in black or brick. It’s cotton, so it won’t overheat you, but it will keep you cozy on cold planes and trains.

Once you’ve arrived at your destination, switch up the cozy cardigan for a more structured blazer. Smythe’s sharp shoulder wool blazer in greige is made from a lightweight wool and boasts a silky lining, which means you’ll be comfortable in the boardroom.

For shoes that are as easy to walk in as they are to look polished in, check out Yves Saint Laurent’s Kilima platform sandal. These gorgeous wedges are comfortable enough for cab-hopping, but sleek enough for serious pow wows.

Pair your blazer, cardigan and sandals with Alice and Olivia’s Jill belted striped maxi dress. Not only does it give you a “word traveler” vibe, it’s also nice and loose, which means you won’t feel restricted.

JanePratt.com is coming soon. The website says so. But will Tavi Gevinson’s much-hyped forthcoming magazine with Jane Pratt be part of the idolized editrix’s new site? And when will be able to get our mitts on Tavi’s Sassy redux mag?

An article in today’s WWD attempts to answer those questions, despite Pratt’s refusal to go on record and comment on her plans for the site.

Legendary silver screen star Elizabeth Taylor, whose style epitomized Hollywood glamor–and whose infamously prolific love life was constant tabloid fodder–died Wednesday at 79. The two-time Academy Award winner died of congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Taylor’s publicist Sally Morrison confirmed to the AP. A more in-depth look at the memorable style of the violet-eyed Hollywood legend to come.

On the whole, French Vogue supplement Vogue Enfants is a gem for parents and children alike. It features cute clothes and accessories for kids (some that I wish were made for adults!) and this issue has a lovely interiors section that highlights four of the most perfectly precious designs for kids’ bedrooms (think Margot’s room in The Royal Tenenbaums).

But after reviewing the issue, Lauren, Leah and I all felt a little uncomfortable after looking at some of the images, both ads and editorials. Among the images in question are a little girl doing her best impression of a moody Freja in the Beauté section (another good question: a beauty section for toddlers? why?), and a tween model posing provocatively with her mouth agape. Maybe we don’t get it because of our Puritan mentality (Vogue Enfants is French after all but then again TLC puts out a popular show called Toddlers and Tiaras), or maybe it’s that seeing children modeling like they’re adults–adults who are supposed to be sexy–is just plain unsettling. The residual bad taste in our mouths may be leftover from the Vogue Paris December 2010 playfully perverse editorial featuring little girls in big-girl clothing and heaps of makeup.

What do you think, are these ads and editorials cute or creepy?

Janice Celeste, Sessilee Lopez‘s mom, has written a guide book for parents of budding supermodels called Making a Supermodel, which she self-published on Lulu.com. She’s dubbed herself a “super momager,” and the book details lessons she learned about the modeling industry as she helped manage her daughter to supermodel success. “I am writing this book because I want to help other parents help their daughters become high fashion models,” she writes. “Parents often message me on Facebook to ask for advice on how to get their teens into modeling, and many have no idea what it really takes.” Celeste started her daughter off when she was just 12, and used her last pay check after she lost her job to take her daughter to New York to go on open castings. The risk obviously paid off. And Celeste learned a lot about being a “super momager” along the way.

Some of the lessons and words of wisdom Celeste imparts are obvious, some are funny, and some are a bit tawdry. So we combed through the 70 page tome to bring you the best parts:
