It’s hard not to notice Rihanna’s Rolling Stone cover. The pop star’s flawless booty takes center stage, barely covered by a teeny-tiny pair of denim hot pants. Only they’re not denim. The magic booty “shorts” are actually “metal mesh shorts” according to the credits (Rihanna tweeted that they were “chain mail”), custom made by Michael Schmidt Studios for the shoot’s stylist, B. Akerlund.

You might have heard of B. Akerlund–she’s also styled Lady Gaga (she styled Gaga’s bubbly Rolling Stone cover and the video for “Paparazzi”), Madonna, and countless other pop icons. So we had to know, just what was she thinking with those shorts?

“The inspiration was if Rihanna and Kid Rock had a baby,” she told us. Fair enough. Let’s just hope that doesn’t actually happen IRL.

I LOOOOVE her hair like this, this is totally my prom look!! I’m also obsessed with http://www.clairespromstyle.com, tons of cute accessories!!!

I’m not offended by the cover, but because of covers like this, I no longer read the magazine. The magazine is not about music anymore–it’s about celeb gossip and sex. Also, I’m not into chicks, and if I want to stare at female butt in the mirror, I’ll just look at my own.

Haha Last Night was amazing! I dare you to watch this http://t.co/wJUOw1C

if all of our lives were amplified by a microscope like hers is, we would see that our lives are not much different… except for the fact that she fought to get where she is, and most of us have just strolled to where we are.

hot dang, she looks hot! she is a true artist. performers just perform, but artists can put on a show, and have natural talent.
