The Dolce & Gabbana Dress Gisele Wears on Emmanuelle’s First Vogue Paris Cover Appears on Two Other International Vogue Covers
By Steff Yotka
The news just keeps pouring in about Vogue Paris’ April 2011 cover, the first under the tenure of new EIC Emmanuelle Alt.
Apparently the lace Dolce & Gabbana dress Gisele sports on Vogue Paris’ cover appears on the February and April covers of two other magazines. Even worse, the two other mags are editions of Vogue: Spain and Germany.
We’re not sure who is to blame in this situation, the PR team or the magazine, but if we can draw one solid conclusion, it’s that Emmanuelle’s taste is quite popular. Let’s just hope this doesn’t become another Miu Miu situation.

how unfortunate for her, lol.
more unfortunate that it’s not the best one either…i think the espana cover is gorgeous!!!!
I prefer the Spanish Vogue cover too.
I’m with you girls. The Espana cover is gorgeous. The Paris one has G looking all sorts of awkward.
compare to the other ones, alt’s version stands out the most for me.
maybe rumors flew around about the dress being used for the alt’s first paris vogue and others follow suit. its interesting as to why this happens so often.

I know this is not the point but seeing the dress on 3 covers cleared something up for me…I thought she had styled it to have the bra n panties peeking through but I guess not. I cant see for sure but they all look like the same so its a set? the dress is cute but needs a slip!
I don’t like the big white undies at all, they are very ugly and totally distracting. If it does come as a set I would have thought that a fashion editor with taste would have ditched them and added a nude slip or under dress.
I’m having some fashion conspiracy theories developing….
So what could be Vogue’s next move on this? For some its really not a big deal since the covers are from other countries but yet again, seeing the same dress on a magazine cover is a major no-no in the fashion industry.
How about product endorcement ?? D&G probably had the largest ad budget.
at least the vogue paris cover is the nicest. i’m surprised she didn’t do anything lame and balmain-inspired
I think it is the silliest. That awkward modelly pose in front of a garden background looks quite stupid to me.
This dress looks safe, but not so special. What a disappointment! I was hoping to see a more innovative statement.
