Carole Middleton, the MOB
Kate’s dress might be the frock we’re all talking about but her mom’s look is causing some drama.
According to the Daily Mail, Carole Middleton had initially commissioned Lindka Cierach, the Brit designer most known for creating the Duchess of York’s wedding dress (she’s also dressed Queen Rania of Jordan and Catherine Zeta-Jones), to create her MOB outfit. But this past weekend brings reports that Middleton has changed her mind at the last second, dropping Cierach and Jess Collett, the milliner she was working with. Middleton allegedly felt Cierach was being “unaccommodating” because she wouldn’t deliver the unfinished dress to her apartment so her friends could see what it looked like and felt her studio, where Cierach preferred Middleton to come for appointments and alterations, to be “too small.” Cierach is reportedly “bemused” by the whole thing, while Collett, the milliner, is “gutted.”
Middleton and her other daughter Pippa were recently spotted meeting with Alice Temperley, leading to speculation that she might wear a Temperley creation come Friday. Temperley does have a specific section on her website for mothers of the bride, so maybe we’ll see Carole in something like this:
