Queen Elizabeth II
Writing for the Telegraph today, Justine Picardie says it’s the Queen, not Kate, who’s got style. “The Queen has become the most sustained of style icons,” she writes. “[Her] look that appears to have influenced several designers, including Miuccia Prada, a former communist who nevertheless does a good line in channelling Her Majesty with tweed skirts, ladylike tailoring and boxy handbags, mixed up with zinging colour.”
Prada comparisons aside, it’s a good bet the Queen will wear wear color come Friday, an outfit likely designed by her one of her preferred in-house designers, Angela Kelly. According to a report from ABC News, Kelly is designing two possible outfits for the Queen, and a third will be commissioned outside the palace. The three outfits will be “laid out for the queen on the morning of April 29. Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth will then chose which one she prefers to wear, depending on the weather.”
