Fabulous Former Fashionista Intern Jazzi McGilbert Teams Up With Olsenboye

I've been reading Fashionista since the beginning, and one of my favorite columns from the early days was Jazzi McGilbert's "What's in your Bag?" video series. Jazzi's such a natural on camera, and she also chose the best subjects. Since moving back from New York to her hometown of Los Angeles, the blogger (www.jazzimcg.com)/stylist has been busy with her own site and plenty of other projects, including a spring video with Olsenboye, where she talks about her style inspirations and even tries on some of the collection's wares. (Which are available at JCPenney, in case you've been living under a rock.) We got an exclusive preview of the video, and also did a little catchup with Jazzi.

Fashionista: Congrats on your collab with Olsenboye--what did you like most about the spring collection? Jazzi McGilbert: Thanks guys! My favorite part about the spring collection has to be the prices, honestly! I'm a die-hard bargain hunter, and I think it's important for younger girls to see more examples of budget-conscious style. And there are definitely some pieces (like this killer white day dress that Natalie wears in her video) that will have any age stalking the Juniors section.

Your videos on Fashionista were a huge hit. What have you been up to since you moved back to LA? Ah! I loved my time at Fashionista and some of the characters I met shooting those were hilarious! I still cringe watching myself on camera though. Since moving back to L.A. I've been bouncing around freelancing - writing, lots of assisting on shoots, styling and anything in between. Right now I'm contributing to Nylon and penning their L.A. newsletter which has been great.

What's next for you? I wish I knew! I've got some major goals I'd like to check off my to-do list and a few exciting projects on the horizon (sorry that's so vague) but I'm really kind of taking things day by day. Being my own boss is nice for now, but ultimately I hope to start something bigger than myself... or maybe I'll settle onto a team or a masthead sometime in the future.

Thanks Fashionista! Thank you, Jazzi!
