Fashion’s Night Out details have begun trickling in, and we like what what we’re hearing:

  • FNO 2011 will take place on September 8, 2011, which is a Thursday.

  • If you don’t like leaving the house after 7pm–we relate!–online retailers will have the chance to participate as well. These virtual events are also great for those without FNO in their area.
  • Vogue editors and other girls-about-town will be creating custom sets for Polyvore in the countdown to FNR. (The promotion begins August 15.) We can’t wait to see MMB’s.
  • Anna‘s still incredibly excited about it all, so you should be too. “We’ve come a long way in three years, and thankfully, the fashion industry is much healthier than when we started in 2009, but it could always be better,” she said in a statement. “We’re very proud of the excitement and level of traffic the initiative has inspired over the last two years, and we are eager to see the kinds of events retailers will create to turn all that wonderful enthusiasm into even greater sales this year.

Retailers, take note: The deadline for Fashion’s Night Out collection wholesale orders is April 26, 2011.

I was relieved to finally stop hearing about last year’s FNO. Between the blogs and the entire edition of Vogue dedicated to an event on one night in one city. Major overkill.

Oh, but you must live in NYC, Boff. I was entirely jealous that I couldn’t get a view of this event that champions what NYC does best — help the clothing/fashion/retail industry to survive. Now, with an online component, we all can participate. This is an extremely important industry — and if FNO helps to keep or maintain jobs in USA, I’m all for it. Best thing Anna’s done for the industry.
