Shopping for tights and hose has to be one of the least rewarding shopping trips ever. (Well, maybe tampon shopping is worse.) My own personal hell is trying to find black opaque DKNY tights every fall that always seem to be sold out everywhere in my size.
Two longtime friends and frequent business travelers–and presumably hosiery wearers–got together and started an online hosiery shopping service, Hoseanna. The site gives you several options for shopping.
You can shop like any other website and buy things as-needed. There’s also a subscription service for those of you who have to wear hose on a regular basis. You can opt to have items sent monthly, every two months, or every three months. Perfect if you have a job where you’re running (get it?) through a lot of hose.
Right now the selection is pretty small, but they’re adding brands slowly as demand grows. You can get Hanes, Hue, DKNY, Bella, and we spotted some sassy suspended thigh highs from Pretty Polly for House of Holland. The owners want customers to write in if there’s a particular brand they’d like to see on the site.
Would you shop at a site like this for hose? In fashion circles you don’t see a lot of proper old-school pantyhose anymore, but there are still tons of industries that require them. I’d like to see a lot more variety and brands offered, but I could see this concept taking off.
