Jessica Szohr Talks To Us About Armpits (Among Other Things)

Do you love your armpits? Chances are that most women will answer "no" to this question. In fact, Dove interviewed 534 women between the ages of 18-64 and a whopping 93% think their pits are the pits. Not shocking. The next question: would you use a product that claims to make them prettier? Today Dove is launching Dove Ultimate Go Sleeveless deodorant/anti-perspirant, which supposedly provides 24 hours of wetness protection while also giving your underarms a dose of vitamins, a humectant, and moisturizers. In five days, Dove says you’ll have softer, smoother underarms. The deodorant is also formulated to minimize telltale white deodorant marks on your clothes. (If only it could get rid of annoying stubble and flabby biceps, too.) Jessica Szohr, of Gossip Girl fame, teamed up with Dove to promote Go Sleeveless, and we got to chat with her during New York Fashion Week this past February at Milk Studios where she was doing a photo shoot with Dove. She was wearing cut off denim shorts and ass-kicking Dsquared pointy wingtip oxfords; she also has enviably thick hair and seriously amazing skin.

Jessica Szohr, of Gossip Girl fame, teamed up with Dove to promote Go Sleeveless, and we got to chat with her during New York Fashion Week this past February at Milk Studios where she was doing a photo shoot with Dove. So why the partnership with Dovet? Obviously Jessica has done her share of nerve-wracking red carpets and dealt with a cold sweat. She told us, “I know a lot of women are very shy to show their underarms or wear something sleeveless and it can kind of limit women’s fashion choices.” She’s doing a contest with Dove on Facebook, in which you will be able to design sleeveless tops. The grand prize winner, as chosen by Jessica and “a team of sleeveless experts” will win a $5,000 shopping trip with Jessica in NYC.

Jessica grew up in a small town and shopped at rummage sales, so her designer education came from Eric Daman, the costume designer on Gossip Girl. Jessica’s real-life look really isn’t influenced by Vanessa’s. Jessica told us, “I know a lot of bright patterns and colors are coming in this season and I was kind of like, ‘That’s right up Vanessa’s alley.’ I’m much more simple; my style is tomboy/bohemian.”

Jessica was also keen to share her beauty secrets when we asked: -Washes her face before bed (just like Lady Gaga!) -Uses a lot of moisturizer and eye cream, and especially likes Amore Pacific. -Gets facials every few weeks, not always with extractions. -Loves lip gloss. -Learned to use a spoon to curl her eyelashes. -Always sprays perfume on the back of her neck, as taught by her mom.

So. If you're interested in armpit improvement, creating a sleeveless top, and/or hanging out with Jessica Szohr, this is your lucky day.
