Kate Middleton Steps Out in an $89 Polyester Zara Dress the Day After the Wedding

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and wearer of Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, went right back to her high street comfort zone as soon as the big day was over. She was photographed on Saturday wearing a blue pleated Zara dress that retails for $89.90. And forget silk and hand-stitched lace--this dress is 100% polyester.

The simple frock is currently on Zara’s website, so it must have been a recent purchase--perhaps one made on Kate's recent high street shopping spree. Given the newly minted royal’s penchant for shopping her closet, it's nice to see her in something new. It's the first time Kate has worn Zara (that we can recall), though it totally fits with the sort of contemporary high street labels she likes to wear. But now that she's a Duchess, we figure Kate can afford to mix some high in with the low.

We suspect this dress won’t be around Zara for much longer, so run out and grab a piece of history.
