Kelly Bensimon Makes a DIY Hair Martini (Yes, There's Vodka In It)--But Does It Work?

Kelly Bensimon, in case you don’t know her, is best known as the Real Housewife of New York who went crazy on one episode (also she was a model and is an ex-wife of Gilles Bensimon). She bounced back from that pretty well, and just made a YouTube video to teach us how to take care of our hair, all with convenient ingredients that you probably have in your liquor cabinet. Kelly claims her hair stylist told her to mix olive oil, salt, vodka, and lemon juice to make her hair look glorious again. She then demonstrates mixing it up in her bathroom, dips her hair in it, and says, “Wish me luck!” The end. So what happened to her hair?! We may never know. Unless she gets bored this weekend and shows us. My hair expert said that 50% of the ingredients could be helpful--olive oil for hydration and salt to clean your scalp.

My hair expert said that 50% of the ingredients could be helpful--olive oil for hydration and salt to clean your scalp. He wasn't so pro-vodka, but a bit of research showed that it could possibly be helpful (apparently it adds some shine). Lemon juice can actually dry your hair and he said if you put it on new highlights it will strip your toner. Can you imagine going on a date after this? “Ooh, babe, you smell great. Just like a vodka gimlet.”

Bethenny Frankel, another RHONY alum, has her famous (and very successful) Skinny Girl drinks, so it makes sense that Kelly wants a product to shill, too. We smell a hair care line in the works.
