Or are you just a fan of the original black/white style sported by Ms. Cruella De Vil?

Remember that nutso story about the demented mom who injects her eight-year-old daughter with Botox? Well, it ended up being true, and Lara Spencer interviewed the San Francisco-based mom and daughter on Good Morning America yesterday. It was all as creepy and strange as you might imagine–the mom is training the girl to be a “superstar”–but there’s some good news. Apparently San Francisco human services is investigating the situation.

“It’s pretty unusual for a mom to be injecting an 8-year-old with botox and certainly is grounds for an investigation,” San Francisco Human Services Agency spokesperson Trent Rohrer told GMA.

We have no doubt something will be done. Because this shit is bananas. Click through to watch the video of Spencer interviewing the girl.

Why would you want to limit the spectrum of beauty to an “ideal” when you, as a popular womens magazine, have the opportunity to expand it? I don’t think any woman should have to feel as if she needs to shove herself into an “ideal” to be beautiful. Beauty should be something that is celebrated and something that is enjoyable, not something that people should feel uncomfortable about achieving. Most of the women, and certainly most of the adolescent girls, in the United States do not feel completely secure with themselves, especially with their appearance; is insecurity something you want to advocate? As American women, we don’t need discouragement, but inspiration.

Weddings are obviously a hot topic these days. There was just a pretty big one two weeks ago, remember? And just in time for wedding season, there are this season’s wedding movie releases.

Bridesmaids, the Judd Apatow-produced gross-out chick flick, hits theaters today. I got to see it last week at a screening, and was asked to watch it with an eye on the fashion.

Before I get to that, a bit of background on the movie. Kristen Wiig stars as Annie, who has been BFF’s with Lilian (Maya Rudolph) since they were kids. Lilian got engaged and Annie is the maid of honor. The rest of the bridal party is made up of a ragtag group of Lilian’s friends, and hilarity ensues.

And this movie really is hilarious. Any film whose first line of dialogue is Jon Hamm saying, “Cup my balls” gets my vote. It does a really brilliant job of mixing absolutely disgusting scenes (without spoilers I will just say–wait for the bridal shop scene), clever dialogue, and some truly touching moments. The ending was a tribute to Sixteen Candles that made me want to weep with happiness.
