SYDNEY–Camilla and Marc drew an eager crowd at the State Theatre last night in Sydney where they presented their spring 2011 collection. The ornate setting was a stark contrast to the fiercely modern collection, which included traffic-stopping brights, neoprene and prints galore.
The show had a far more playful feel than previous seasons, while still maintaining the elegance and tailoring the brand is known for. There were the signature party frocks they do so well, only these ones played with volume and colour in new ways. There were overblown, cascading ruffles down the front of an LBD, exaggerated peplum skirts, and red carpet-looks, perfect for any starlet with a bit of edge.
Even the most understated silhouettes were made bold with the use of colour blocking (in cobalt, hot pink and emerald green) or bright and arty leopard prints. Body-hugging neoprene in hot pink and white with contrast detailing, lent the collection an energetic, sporty vibe.
