Blake Lively went as Karl Lagerfeld’s date last night to the Met Gala, wearing a one shouldered dress with a sheer bodice that outlined her, erm, assets.
Never did I think I would say this, but Blake’s sequin trompe l’oeil pasty bears a striking resemblance to a certain pastie worn by none other than Lil’ Kim in 1999. So who’s revealing look do you love more: Blake’s or Lil’ Kim’s?

I actually think this one is pretty cute. It’s funny and there IS somewhat of a resemblance between the (breast) silhouette of the two looks. Anyway, that said, I’m siding with Kim this one. Her look is fresh, original, fun, and well-executed. It actually (and I’m slightly surprising myself by saying this…) looks surprisingly somewhat chic, in fact.
And honestly, had I not known Blake was wearing Chanel, I’d have never guessed it in MILLION years. There’s nothing really striking or special about this look. The draping is poor, and it honestly looks like something Versace might do, or some Midwest girl would have her local seamstress whip up for prom. It doesn’t look special to me, at all. And it certainly does nothing to speak to the level of skill of the atelier at Chanel. Haute Couture? I don’t even see this being pret-a-porter for Chanel, let alone HC.
Kim wins.
