Now that’s it officially summer, we’d like to revive our “Get Inspired” column, in the spirit of the summer blockbuster. While there are certainly enough movies in theatres to keep cinephiles busy, we’re going to look back at films from the archives that possess a great sense of fashion.
First up is a bit of classic, American cimena: Mike Nichols’ The Graduate, which is available on Netflix Watch Instantly. Made in 1967, The Gradaute exists in the grey area between sixties mod and seventies refinement. From Anne Bancroft’s cougar-printed looks to Dustin Hoffman’s overgrown schoolboy, the style in the film is quirky, chic, and perfect for a 2011 revival.
To help you adopt the film’s fashion sense, we’ve selected some items in stores now that evoke the same west coast feel, so click through our slide show and get inspired!
