In the elite confines of the Boom Boom Room, Interview Magazine hosted flaxen-haired stunner Oh Land, no stranger to the top of the Standard, who performed to an audience of fashion’s glitterati. Wearing an all-white ensemble, complete with coordinating organza frock and Native American headdress, the singer crooned a full set from her recently released album while holding court on the electro-drums. Sprite and rather slender, the former ballerina gave us more reason to regret dropping out of dance class at the tender age of 7.

Caught between the performance stage and an awkward mosh pit of badly behaving (probably) Goldman Sachs boys, Elle’s Kate Lanphear told us that she’s an Oh Land fan because, “I love anyone who wears sequins during the day.” Earlier in the afternoon, the songstress attended a bevy of resort shows in a custom Stine Goya pantsuit, covered in sparkling spiders.

SAO PAULO–We usually see Alexander Herchcovitch‘s shows in New York–he’s been showing in the city since the early oughts. But the Sao Paulo native also shows in his hometown, so we got an early look at what we’ll be seeing from him in a few months.

For spring, the always bold designer (remember that football-inspired collection?) sent out a surprisingly subdued, ultra-feminine collection of ladylike silk dresses embroidered and printed with flowers. His color palate may well have been taken from an Easter egg basket. Waists were nipped and tied up in bows. But this is Herchcovitch after all, and the collection stopped short of saccharin. Flouncy silk day dresses got a sporty kick when paired with matching embroidered silk baseball caps, and flashes of poppy livened up the Easter basket. So did the cleavage on display in bustier tops and one-piece swimsuits. Oh, and a lone black dress closed the show.

Click through for photos and video of the show.

Robyn fans: if you were planning on staying out all Saturday night dancing (on your own) to Robyn, you might instead want to tuck in early so that you can wake up Sunday morning to get in line at the H&M on fifth avenue, where the Swedish pop star will be performing for free at noon, WWD is reporting.

Robyn once modeled for the H&M Fashion Against AIDS campaign, and is in town to perform at another weird place on Monday–the Jet Blue Terminal 5 at JFK–so it follows that the Swedes would team up to drum up some sales and publicity for the retail chain. While the store will undoubtedly be something of a clusterf*ck this sunday, it might be worth it for die-hard Robyn fans, as you may actually get to meet her. She’ll be signing autographs for around two hours following the performance.

SAO PAULO–If you blinked, you might have missed it. Ashton Kutcher walked the runway for Brazilian label Colcci last night at Sao Paulo Fashion Week. And he didn’t seem too thrilled about it either, despite the hefty paycheck he undoubtedly received for making the brief appearance. Perhaps he was sad to be without his wife, who accompanied him to last season’s show when he walked for the label for the first time.

Kutcher, who got his start has a model, opened the show alongside Alessandra Ambrosio wearing a mariniere with the sleeves casually pushed up, cuffed jeans and white oxfords. Ambrosio wore far less–a bright orange swimsuit with a cropped puffer coat (makes total sense, right?). Kutcher and Ambrosio also star in the label’s print campaign.

Kutcher looked good if a bit lackluster and scratched his back as he walked down the runway next to a smiling Ambrosio.

FLORENCE–When Scott Sternberg said he was influenced by West Side Story and Singing in the Rain while putting together his Pitti Immagine runway show, I had a feeling there would be some epic musical element to the event, which took place yesterday at sunset on the grounds of an old tobacco factory.

And there was. Not only did it feature music from West Side Story, there were also professional dancers/models who opened and closed the show, launching into it with those famous finger snaps.

Gen Art, which has a long history of introducing the world to emerging talent in film, fashion, art and music through respected events like film festivals, showcases, and seasonal fashion shows, had to shut its doors for a little bit last year, but has thankfully gotten back on its feet and is ready to officially re-launch “Fresh Faces in Fashion.” The annual presentation, which has helped launch careers for the likes of Zac Posen, Phillip Lim, the Vena Cava girls and Peter Som, gives promising designers who may not otherwise have the resources an opportunity take part in a high-profile runway show during fashion week. This year, Gen Art will produce two shows–one in New York on September 9 and one in Los Angeles at the end of October.

Starting today, Gen Art is accepting submissions for both. It’s a pretty amazing opportunity for a young designer, especially now that the organization has more resources to nurture and market its fresh faces beyond just giving them a runway to put clothes down. A few years from now, you could be winning a Swarovski award from the CFDA (as six Fresh Faces alumni have).

If you thought Snooki was too busy causing a ruckus in Florence filming the latest season of Jersey Shore to focus on her branded empire, think again. She’s expanded her footwear line (which up until now consisted of leopard print slippers) to include flip-flops and wedges.

The line is set to launch for holiday 2011, Footwear News is reporting, and will retail for $15 to $50. A second collection is already in the works for spring 2012. Footwear News has a preview of some of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s new beach footwear designs, and they are Snooki to the core: one pair is pink with green pickles while the others are a bit fancier with a ruched thong and leopard print soles (think: fist pumping at the club, with the added benefit of a diminished risk of falling). We’re not exactly expecting high fashion from Polizzi. Her products are true to who she is and affordable. And that’s nice.

On another note, Lauren, have you seen the cast in Florence? Are they at Pitti chilling with the Mulleavy’s?

FLORENCE–Despite plenty of groveling at this morning’s press conference, Scott Sternberg wouldn’t tell the Italian journalists desperate to make their 5pm deadline what tonight’s Band of Outsiders runway show would entail. (Apparently some papers require their writers to finish the review regardless of whether or not the show has taken place, just so it can be in print the next day.)

But he did reveal one nugget of information–the company is “actively” looking at launching a handbag collection. While Sternberg does men’s shoes with Sperry Top-Sider (a five-year-long collaboration) and women’s shoes with Manolo Blahnik, he’s yet to delve into carryalls. So get excited: Those of us obsessed with Sternberg’s Whit Stillman-inspired aesthetic will soon have yet another excuse to spend lots of money.
