Happy Birthday, Mulberry! In celebration of the British accessories brand’s 40th year, the label teamed up with artist Josh Gurrie to create an animated film that illustrates its history, from the story of founder Roger Saul to collaborations with Alexa Chung, Emma Hill, Giles Deacon, Stuart Vevers…. Now that’s it officially summer, we’d like to revive our “Get Inspired” column, in the spirit of the summer blockbuster. While there are certainly enough movies in theatres to keep cinephiles busy, we’re going to look back at films from the archives that possess a great sense of fashion.

First up is a bit of classic, American cimena: Mike Nichols’ The Graduate, which is available on Netflix Watch Instantly. Made in 1967, The Gradaute exists in the grey area between sixties mod and seventies refinement. From Anne Bancroft’s cougar-printed looks to Dustin Hoffman’s overgrown schoolboy, the style in the film is quirky, chic, and perfect for a 2011 revival.

To help you adopt the film’s fashion sense, we’ve selected some items in stores now that evoke the same west coast feel, so click through our slide show and get inspired!

Despite earlier reports suggesting John Galliano would eventually be invited back to the helm of his namesake label, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault told the New York Times‘ Cathy Horyn that the disgraced designer is not welcome at LVMH.

“He will not be working for LVMH,” Arnault said after the Dior Homme show in Paris on Saturday. He also revealed that Galliano’s longtime assistant Bill Gaytten is taking over as the creative director of the namesake label. (Gaytten bowed at the Galliano menswear show yesterday.)

It’s official: Today’s luxury brands should not only boast accessories, fragrance, and home goods collections, they must also outfit their clients’ children. This explains the launch of Young Versace, a new range of kids’ clothes from Donatella and co. The line was launched Thursday at Pitti Bimbio, the trade show for baby clothes.

So, what’s it look like? if you’re expecting lots of gold lamé and lycra, think again. The styles, made for newborns through 12 years, are quite sweet, with plenty of pastels. There’s an Alice in Wonderland-themed print on onesies and dresses, plus tiered skirts emblazoned with white, yellow, and pink micro-orchids. (If you are looking for a bit of bling, there’s a Swarovski crystal-studded baby bottle. Seriously.)

Model slash actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been sartorially killing it lately on her Transformers press tour. Wearing the likes of Gucci, Stella McCartney, Michael Kors, The Row and more, she looks flawless at every appearance she makes. We hear she’s working with Kate Bosworth’s stylist Cher Coulter. Coulter’s styling, plus Rosie’s ability to look great in just about anything, is clearly working out well. We can’t wait to see what she wears next. I went to Sao Paulo fashion week to learn about Brazilian fashion, and I was surprised and impressed with what I saw. (I was also tickled by some extreme looks that came down the runways–extreme looks are de rigueur on the runway and most folks don’t get to see them–and so I wrote a lighthearted humorous post about them. Some folks were amused, many were not. So it goes.)

Brazilian fashion, I learned, is much more than colorful printed beachwear and bikinis (though Brazil does both those things exceedingly well). Here are five Brazilian labels that should be on your radar. There are, of course, lots more to know about but here’s a start.

Conan O’Brien mocks the John Galliano scandal by creating some weird ass hats. We could actually see people wearing a few of these to the shows.

Clarins pulled out all the stops for last night’s launch of Thierry Mugler Angel Eau de Toilette (as they tend to do for Mugler fragrance launches) and introduction of the newest Angel, Eva Mendes. They turned the first floor of the Westside highway-adjacent, Frank Gehry-designed IAC building into this cinematic, dreamlike Thierry Mugler Angel world. There were stars and comets somehow projected onto the ceiling. They even erected a gigantic comet (the same shape that outlines the perfume bottle) in the entrance that you had to walk under to go in to the event. They stamped a star on my hand when I walked in for no apparent reason. Also, I’m pretty sure the Angel scent was somehow wafting through the venue. I never stopped smelling it, even after I left, because I took the little blue Angel-scented scarf a woman suggested I tie around my wrist because it was pretty and blue.

About an hour and a half into the event, Eva Mendes made her very planned and theatrical entrance. The lights went down, the music changed to Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” and everyone stopped talking and gathered around to watch Eva walk through the giant comet in a gorgeous cream, strapless Nicola Formichetti-designed Mugler gown.

PARIS–It’s always fascinating to see how one dominating trend can lead to such varied re-interpretations. No need to tell you this fashion week’s leading look is 1950s yacht wear: blue, white and Moët. Yet two shows yesterday offered a radically different way of going on holiday.
