Watch: Model Hannelore Knuts Gets 365 Layers of Makeup Applied to Her Face

Dutch artistic duo Lernert and Sander, who are known for doing weird videos like melting a chocolate bunny with a hairdryer, shot Belgian beauty Hannelore Knuts for their latest short film on NOWNESS. Called Natural Beauty, the duo's goal was "to apply 365 layers of makeup in one day to see how much is needed to go from a natural look to an outrageous one."

To that end, they used seven bottles of foundation, two bottles of eye cream, three lip pens, and two bottles of blush (all were Ellis Faas cosmetics). The shoot took nine hours, during which Hannelore was encased between two white panels. She could only eat through a straw. The funniest part was that they did a dry run of 100 layers on their male intern. Of the practice run they said, "We wanted to make sure that this amount of makeup wouldn't kill a person. It didn't kill our intern so we trusted everything would be fine on Hannelore." Hope she had some damn good makeup remover, though.
