Finally, we can stalk the new royal couple more efficiently–the official itinerary for the California leg of their upcoming July North American tour was released earlier today. As is appropriate, their schedule revolves heavily around British interests here in the U.S. And yes, there are ample opportunities for Kate to show us her evolving wardrobe–that Jenny Packham gown from last week makes us want to see more. It should also be interesting to see if and how Kate adapts to laid-back California style. Check out the itinerary and plan your schedules accordingly:
Friday, July 8: There will be a reception with the Consular-General, during which the couple will hang out and discuss British overseas business interests. (Fashion prediction: A conservative, serious dress.)
Saturday, July 9: Will is playing in a charity polo match in Santa Barbara to benefit the American Friends of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry. And Kate will be handing out the trophy to the winner. (Fashion prediction: HAT! And probably something floral.)
Saturday, July 9, evening: The couple will attend the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) first-ever BAFTA Brits to Watch black-tie dinner and reception in Los Angeles. The red carpet for this one is going to be epic. A BAFTA panel selected 42 Brit up-and-comers to meet the couple and hang out with a bunch of Hollywood “elite.” We’re drooling just thinking about the potential. (Fashion prediction: Formal gown, maybe a bit more pizzazz, probably a neutral color.)
Sunday, July 10: The couple gets private time, where they can splash in the hotel tub and steal what will undoubtedly be amazing products from the hotel bathroom. Then it’s on to the Inner City Arts School in LA, for photo-ops with underprivileged children. (Fashion prediction: Practical dress, the L.K. Bennett wedges, trim jacket.)
The couple will be traveling with an entourage of a mere seven people, most of whom are press secretaries and the like. However, Kate is bringing her most prized beauty weapon: her hairdresser, James Pryce. Because those hacks in LA can’t possibly be trusted to tend to her hair. We like that she has her priorities straight.
