Balmain Launches a Hair Care Line

To some fashion labels--like Armani, Dior, Chanel--makeup and fragrance makes up a big chunk of their revenue every year. And it’s a great way for “aspirational” (the beauty industry’s current favorite buzzword) shoppers to get a piece of a brand that they couldn’t normally afford. Enter Balmain, who’s getting into beauty through an unusual route--hair care. They’ve weirdly had high-end hair extensions for a while, so it probably makes sense that they’re launching a hair care line.

Enter Balmain, who’s getting into beauty through an unusual route--hair care. They’ve weirdly had high-end hair extensions for a while, so it probably makes sense that they’re launching a hair care line.

The line consists of seven products: four in the Nutrition Intense line (shampoo, conditioner, masque, styling spray) and three in the Hydrant line (shampoo, conditioner, hydration spray), which is geared towards fine hair.

Beauty High reports that the products will smell delish. Notes of ivy, mandarin, violet, rose, blackberry, musk, and freesia are blended in. Balmain has quite an archive of fragrances, so it’s smart that they’re incorporating their scent expertise into their hair care products.

One thing we don’t know yet is the price or when and where the products will be available. We’re assuming more information will pop up on their hair site soon. Hopefully the pricing’s not done on the same scale as their t-shirt pricing scheme, otherwise a bottle of shampoo is going to cost $700.
