Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Carine Roitfeld would be styling V‘s September cover and cover story and it’s now coming to fruition. WWD reports that the legendary former French Vogue editor is collaborating with Mario Testino on a 72-page “fashion extravaganza” for the glossy. September’s theme is “heroes” and thus Carine has chosen to pay tribute to late icon Elizabeth Taylor.

Taylor was without question both a hero and a fashion inspiration. Roitfeld’s translation of her bold and unforgettable style into 72 pages of fashion is going to be amazing.

Roitfeld has always been a perfect fit for V, whose inaugural cover she styled back in 1999. The magazine even paid tribute to her in the latest Transformation Issue with a selection of her most transformative moments from the history of V (which you can see here).

Basically, we can’t wait until this hits newsstands. It’s going to be epic.
