Fellow citizens of the United States: it’s finally happened. The royal couple is here! Kate and William left Canada yesterday afternoon after a quick stop at the ENMAX Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo, Botanical Garden and Prehistoric Park. She wore a scarlet Catherine Walker “Marianne” coat dress, made of lightweight wool with a full skirt. Kate accessorized with the Queen’s diamond maple leaf brooch (also seen on her now infamous “Canada Day” outfit.) And the shoes? You guessed it! Nude LK Bennett platform pumps–the style is called the Sledge2 in case you’re interested in tracking some down.

The Duchess of Cambridge performed another in-flight wardrobe change after leaving Canada, arriving at LAX in a much lighter and airier confection. Wearing one of the FLOTUS‘ favorite designers, Kate arrived looking fresh in a pale lavender belted Roksanda Illincic sheath dress with an asymmetric collar and sleeves. The shoes are intriguing, because they don’t look like the NK Bennett platform pumps, though they’re just as boring and nondescript. From the airport the couple headed to a UK trade conference and then to the home of the UK Consular-General, where they attended a reception.

At the private reception she donned a Diane von Furstenberg (yay, an American designer!) green “Maja” dress and DvF leopard-print clutch. We didn’t even bother showing her shoes, because you know what they are. (And we couldn’t help put show you a pic of the prince with David Beckham, who could give the royal a tip or two about spiffy dressing. Victoria wasn’t present, since she is about to give birth any second.)

Today is a polo match and a formal BAFTA dinner. We can’t handle all the excitement.
