Kate Middleton Wears Alexander McQueen in Prince Edward Island (Canada Outfit #9)

Kate Middleton's latest getup is a cable knit Alexander McQueen sweater dress with a sailor collar, designed by Sarah Burton. To us, the dress looks obviously inspired by Anne Shirley, the title character in Anne of Green Gables. (Anne often wore sailor collar blouses with her late 19th century floor length skirts.) Of course, we could be reaching. You see, Middleton and her prince are visiting Prince Edward Island--the Anne books take place in a town on the island called Avonlea. But maybe not, especially if Kate was as obsessed with author Lucy Maud Montgomery as we were.

So maybe we're right, especially if Kate was as obsessed with all things Lucy Maud Montgomery as we were. Emily of New Moon, anyone?
