Kate Middleton Wears Jenny Packham at a Polo Match and Formal Alexander McQueen in Hollywood
By Cheryl WischhoverThe royal couple’s whirlwind weekend in California continued yesterday as Kate and William hit up a charity polo match (where tickets went for $4,000 and Giada De Laurentiis cooked the lunch.) She wore new fave designer Jenny Packham AGAIN–quite a lovely pale lilac dress with a floral print. Two elements of her outfit that sort of shocked us? We thought for sure she’d be sporting a hat for polo, but she let her wavy hair take center stage. And look at her feet: sandals! Yes, they’re nude, but they have a criss-cross strap and a respectable heel height. We’re calling this progress. See her Alexander McQueen gown after the jump!
Later that evening was a formal BAFTA dinner to celebrate up-and-coming Brit actors. Kate wore a lilac Alexander McQueen gown with a sparkle-encrusted belt, and champagne Jimmy Choo sandals and clutch, further proving that she knows how to look utterly elegant in formalwear. The royal couple hobnobbed with the likes of Barbra Streisand, Tom Hanks and Nicole Kidman. Blake Lively was there, too, but no word on whether they chatted about fashion or if Blake arranged a meeting with the duchess and Karl.
