Textile, the denim and casual t-shirt line from Elizabeth and James, has gotten so popular that it now warrants its very own advertising campaign. Designers Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen wanted to completely differentiate Textile from its sister brand, so they hired model Abby Brothers to spend some time in the desert–Joshua Tree, to be exact–and the images were shot on digital, Polaroid, color, and black and white film for a collage-y feel. It’s a much more laid back look when compared to Elizabeth and James, which has a pretty, flouncy identity.

Remember that rumor a few months ago about the Kardashians collaborating on a nail polish line with OPI? It’s happening! It’s actually with OPI’s little sister brand, Nicole by OPI, but IT IS HAPPENING.

The Kardashian girls, minus Kim, met with magazine editors yesterday to give everyone a peek at the new line. Both girls tweeted during the event, obviously. (And many thanks to Teen Vogue’s Eva Chen for tweeting like a maniac and putting up a blog post in record time about the press event.) Khloe tweeted, “Wow just had the most amazing lunch for our Nicole by OPI line with fabulous editors of so many glam magazines! #Dreaming”

With so many top-level shakeups at major fashion houses, we’ve come to expect the unexpected and we’re pretty sure no one could have predicted this (at least we were pretty shocked). LVMH has appointed Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, co-founders of specialty store Opening Ceremony, as the new creative directors of Kenzo, effective immediately. As in they are already in Paris piecing together some sort of a collection to present in some format this October.

This news is surprising for a variety of reasons, the first of which being that Kenzo already had a creative director, Antonio Barras, who seemed to be doing fine.

The brand, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, was doing well, but not everywhere, according to WWD, who reported dwindling sales in Kenzo’s traditional markets, but an increase in emerging countries like Russia and China.

Also initially surprising–that two retail store owners with no formal design training were chosen to take over the fashion house.

According to research released by Brides magazine, 52% of American brides are more likely to wear a veil, and there’s been a 200% increase in inquiries for horse-and-carriage rentals. (Yeah, that’s right. Horse and carriage rentals.) There’s also been a 25% bump in sales of red aisle runners.

Starting today, users of Polyvore will not only get to put together outfits for Moda Operandi co-founders Lauren Santo Domingo and Aslaug Magnusdottir, but might actually win something for it. Participants must create a head-to-toe look for either Lauren or Aslaug. The two of them will personally choose one winner to receive the very cute Eddie Borgo’s Bear Trap Bangles pictured below and a $200 gift card to be spent on Moda Operandi.

We’re guessing, then, that the winner will be chosen based on what the two stylish girls feel is the closest to something they would actually wear.

LA-based stylists Emily Current and Meritt Elliott have teamed up with Kate Spade NY to produce a six-piece capsule collection of handbags and leather goods titled “Westward.” The collection, which will be available starting in August at Kate Spade shops and at select Bloomingdale’s, comes out of an unlikely partnership.
