Santigold and Spankrock dance around in soft tees from T by Alexander Wang for the label’s fall campaign to an exclusive remix of Santigold’s new single “Go.” We kinda wish the designer himself was dancing around in his tees too. He can totes bust a move.

Stylist Sally Lyndley has put together an amazing guide to producing a runway show. See her first three installments–Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3–before reading this.

By the time the show comes around, I begin to feel like it’s time to let the chips fall as they may. All of the hard work of the designer and team, producers, casting director, publicist and stylist has finally come together. Months of preparation lead up to a 12-minute show. I put on my game face and one of my favorite outlandish (but comfortable) outfits and head to the show.

Kerry Howley, a bright and articulate (and decidedly non-Goth) British art student who just graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in jewelry design, is happy if you’re grossed out by her work. That’s the whole point.

Kerry’s graduate project was a series of five necklaces made from human hair, and she’s getting a lot of attention lately; it’s not often that you come across hair jewelry. The necklaces are intricate and gorgeously crafted, but seriously creepy once you realize how they’re made.

It’s summertime, and chances are you’re heading to the beach or hanging out with friends. But soon enough it will be September, so you might as well start thinking about your future educational endeavors now. If you have an interest in fashion, whether to design it or take a more behind-the-scenes role, there are tons of amazing school options to consider. For a comprehensive look, you can take a peek at our Top 50 Fashion Schools list, which pretty much covers the entire world. Think you want to stick with US schools? Then you’re in the right place!

We’ve compiled a list of the 20 best fashion schools in the country. As with our previous fashion school rankings, this is not scientific. We looked at data, jobs procured, opinions of people in the industry, and standout program offerings. We also wanted to show you that great schools aren’t limited to NYC–you’ll find colleges located in all parts of the country.

This list is meant to provide an overview of the schools’ strengths and to highlight some of their unique attributes. You’ll find fashion design programs here, but some of the schools listed don’t offer fashion design. Instead, they’ve gained a spot because they offer other amazing programs to prepare you for a career in fashion. We hope it’s helpful as a starting point. (Click here for the full list.)

Tuition prices don’t include fees and housing. And if you see an asterisk (*), it denotes a CFDA-affiliated program. Like our previous rankings, this list includes undergraduate degrees only.

Click through to review the schools and good luck as you embark on a new career!

This is one W cover we can get behind. W, like many glossies, has reported disappointing sales lately and while we’re not sure exactly what Tilda Swinton’s selling power is, we are always in support of her covering a magazine. Not to mention collaborating on a whole spread shot in Iceland with photographer Tim Walker. In “Planet Tilda,” up now on Wmagazine.com (along with a really cool video), the actress and Pringle of Scotland campaign star discusses how she got into fashion and her own style icons, which include David Bowie and her own father. She refers to the two of them as her “aesthetic North Stars,” and “the individuals with whom I share the same planetary DNA.” Read more here and check out the full spread below. It’s kind of insane.

Victoria Beckham’s Style Evolution: In honor of her newborn baby girl, Harper Seven, Vogue UK traces Beckham’s sartorial choices from her not-so-posh Spice Girl days to her current, decidedly more tasteful style. {Vogue UK}

Balenciaga Launching E-Commerce: Notoriously un-Web-savvy, Nicholas Ghesquière is finally stepping up his site to sell all of the brand’s products, including runway ready-to-wear, and become “almost like a daily magazine” with tons of photos and short films by visual artists and photographers conscripted by the designer. Is a blog not far behind? {WWD}

Lady Gaga’s Second V Column: No purchase necessary to read the latest “From The Desk Of Lady Gaga.” This time she talks about… umm… costumes? Fantasy? It doesn’t really make a lot of sense or say anything an average drag queen wouldn’t, but if you’re still intrigued check it out online. {V}

Early this morning, Page Six reported that Vogue Editor in Chief of 23 years Anna Wintour was shopping around a memoir to potential publishers. The report sounded pretty baseless to begin with but on top of that, a Vogue rep told them it was “absolutely not true.”

That Wintour is then going behind Vogue’s back trying to get a memoir published (or that Vogue‘s rep is lying) is extremely unlikely. The Post reasons that Wintour has “opened up significantly in recent years,” citing The September Issue, a 60 Minutes interview and a WSJ profile as evidence. However, in each of these instances, the focus was on Vogue, projects related to Vogue and the fashion business as a whole. It wasn’t Anna sitting there talking about herself or her life. She doesn’t do that.

Rihanna not so subtly hinted recently that she was working with Armani–”U would NEVER guess what I’m doing right now!!! Hint Hint #Armani” she Tweeted on July 6.

And now it’s official. Armani announced today that Rihanna will be the new “global testimonial” (read: face) for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans for the brands’ fall campaigns. Choosing Rihanna and her crazy amazing body to sell underwear? Yeah, that makes sense.

It’s not the first time the pop singer has linked up with an Italian fashion house.
