Q: Are you interested in success?
A: Everyone is! Even a sweeper is interested if you say he sweeps well. It shouldn’t go to your head though, because it’s not for ever. I am not pretentious in such things. You know, from the beginning I could have been the best paid stylist. I have been offered the highest paid contracts in the world. I refused them all. It’s not my thing. I don’t want to cheat people. And there are certain people I am allergic to. I even intervene when I don’t like a customer; I rush in and check all the names. If I don’t like them, I don’t take them.

Q: How many hours a day do you work?
A: I begin at 9 am and I go to bed around 2am, sometimes around 3am. I sleep little. If I’m not working or entertaining, I love to watch the National Geographic channel. It takes my mind off business.

Chanel front rows and party lines, especially over the past few years, always draw an elite group of Chanel-clad ladies who might collectively be referred to as “it girls.” Actresses, models, socialites and DJs make up this group but what they all seem to have in common is beauty, great style and some kind of cultural relevance that Karl or someone at Chanel recognizes as fitting with the Chanel brand. That and the ability to look amazing in Chanel and always catch our attention.

About two years ago, Chanel threw a dinner party and announced an “official list” of five Chanel ambassadors: Leigh Lezark, Jen Brill, Poppy Delevingne, Vanessa Traina, and Caroline Sieber. Others, like Elisa Sednaoui and, back in the day, Ines de la Fressange, have been casually referred to as Karl’s muses.

But, there are still others, like Rachel Bilson, Alexa Chung and newest and youngest member Elle Fanning (!), whose “roles” in the Chanel world were undefined, until now. A tip sheet for last night’s Chanel couture show, revealed by the Telegraph’s Belinda White, literally places bold names expected to attend into a carefully ranked multi-tier system. The categories range from “Japanese celebrities” to “Chanel Ambassadress.” Here they are in what I’m guessing is ascending order.

British high street retailer Next, in association with Storm model management, held an online contest to find their next face for 2011. 24-year-old Roland Bunce from Belfast, described by British tab the Sun as a “fat bloke,” entered the contest, which was open to all.

Someone noticed that a normal dude had entered the “Make me the Next model 2011″ contest and a snarky Facebook campaign was born, propelling Bunce to the top spot out of 5,000 entrants. The group “Roland Bunce To Win next model 2011” currently has 3,549 fans. Bunce won the contest by a landslide–voting was tallied on Facebook and Twitter and Bunce got 66,000 likes and over 6,000 retweets while Jade, the sultry blond who came in second, received only 90 likes on Facebook and a lone tweet.

PARIS–Light, airy, heavenly, and ethereal are usually not words used to describe a fall/winter collection, but they were the precise words to utter about the Givenchy fall 2011 haute couture by Riccardo Tisci. It was presented last night at the spacious Hôtel d’Evreux on Place Vendôme, where two models wore long white sleeveless gowns, with small pieces of lace forming floral patterns.

Each of the Givenchy couture presentations since fall 2010 have been a hard lesson in couture techniques, and this collection was no exception. The 10 looks divided into three rooms–Angels, Bird of Paradise and Clouds–were truly remarkable.

This looks like the most fun wedding reception ever. It probably was. Unofficial Mosstock photog Terry Richardson has been posting pics from last weekend’s Kate Moss/Jamie Hince festivities on his blog all morning. They are so casual and unprofessional-looking, like he’s just some dude uploading pics from someone’s wedding onto Facebook except the bride is a supermodel all the guests are beautiful and famous.

Lately designers are releasing their upcoming season’s ad campaigns early and making an event of it, instead of risking the chance that images will be leaked online. Balenciaga is the latest label to release its fall campaign early and online, rather than print.

Lady Gaga stylist/Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti is pissed off. He says that comments he made in the latest issue of W were misconstrued.

“i know i should just leave it but…i really hate when writers just write whatever they want… ‘i dont work with fat people…’ why would someone say such a thing?!” Formichetti declared tonight on his Facebook, under a gorgeous picture he styled for V‘s size issue.
