Rachel Zoe Talks Lipstick, Designing a Kids Collection and Dressing for Spit-Up

Rachel Zoe may have her hands full with her four-month old baby boy Skyler, but that doesn't mean she's slowing down. She's taken on a new project as the brand ambassador for new beauty line Exude, in addition to talking about designing a kids line and somewhere down the road, even launching her own beauty line. It was the technology behind Exude's first product, their lipstick, that drew the superstar stylist in. "I've been obsessed with lipstick since I was 10--I feel naked without it," said Zoe. "I was skeptical [of Exude] at first, but then I was like, it's kind of amazing." Exude is a lipstick that's applied more like a gloss. The color is contained within a special crystal applicator (shaped like lipstick) that protects the product so it never melts or breaks and is applied evenly every time. "There's no wasted product and it's not messy," said Zoe of the lipstick, which will launch officially in October and retail at $29.00. Of course, having just watched Zoe's Nightline special "Mommywood," where she said she wants to design her own childrens line, we had just a few more questions.

So, is it true? Are you going to design for kids? I can't imagine that I won't do something with baby clothes because it's just so intriguing to me right now. Dressing my son is the highlight of my day. But as soon as he's old enough to realize that he has Gucci and Missoni and all of that in his closet I'm ripping out all the labels because I do not want him to get wrapped up in that. But for right now, for me, it's so much fun. Listen, I didn't have a girl so I at least need to play dress up with my son for as long as I can. Everything is so cute on him. Oh my god, the Missoni sweater on him? You have no idea, it melts my heart. And he sits in his little Missoni stroller with his Missoni blanket...

Does Skyler have multiple outfit changes a day? It depends on how many times he spits up. You have no idea how many things of mine he's spit up on. I have to think about what I'm going to wear everyday, and ask, 'Will this tolerate spit up?' But you don't care--he's the best thing in the world.

Do you have any beauty secrets of your own? As an all around beauty product Egyptian Magic is a life saver for me. In pregnancy and after pregnancy because my son is always on my arm. I've been using a lot of organic for the last year obviously and I'm really into it. I just think moisture is key. You're never too young to start wearing moisturizer. Everywhere. Just lather yourself in oils before you go to bed. You have to or you'll regret it later.

Would you ever launch your own beauty line? We'll see. I'll never say never to anything ever again because I said never to half the things thatIi'm doing now so I'm not going to make myself look like an idiot. So I'll just say maybe. It would be a logical thing for me to do because I love it and it's part of the process of getting dressed and nothing fascinates me more than the complete look. So the answer is, I feel like I'll have to.
