The Best Beauty Looks from the Fall 2011 Couture Shows

Another couture season is behind us, leaving in its wake more Dior rumors, a rare Alaia show, and lots of strange hair accessories. It was a gorgeous week for beauty, though. If nails were less-than-spectacular--we're moving towards a more ladylike manicure, perhaps--the eyes were artful and strong. Lips were mostly neutral with a few notable exceptions. Best Eyelid Bedazzling/Best Barbie Hair: Dior made a lot of statements on the runway this season, not all of them great. However, you have to admire Pat McGrath's makeup genius. Also, we feel sort of bad for making fun of SJP a few months ago for sporting

Best Medieval Princess Hair: Valentino wins this one hands down. From the soft braided buns to the hair jewelry, this look is just plain pretty.

Best Tough/Pretty Look: We loved Chanel's messy hair and dark punky eye combined with the lace and feathers.
